Nathan Eovaldi Shut Down

News broke out of the Bronx after their 8-6 come from behind victory this afternoon. If you haven't seen already Greg Bird hit a three-run shot into the yanks pen in the bottom of the 7th. After the Bombers celebrated 77th victory, they shut down arguably their best pitcher this season in Nathan Eovaldi. Eovaldi has posted a 4.20 ERA in 27 games this season. He is 14-3 in those 27 games. The Yankees are calling it elbow inflammation and are shutting him down for 2 weeks. Now, there are just about a month left in the season so hopefully he can make at least a start or two before the playoffs. Bryan Mitchell who if you remember got stroke in the head with a come backer just a few weeks ago, could be a possible replacement for Eovaldi.

This is a very smart move for the Yankees, although it does hurt Eovaldi's chances of winning the Cy Young. Shutting him down allows him to rest up if he does in fact have elbow inflammation. The staff which is struggling at the moment as a unit has shown spurts of great in the past two times through the rotation. We will see what happens to the yanks as October draws ever closer.

I'd to hear your thoughts don't forget to Like, Comment, Share, on your way out! Happy Labor Day everyone!
