The Men's Final is set in The English Garden

Even without some familiar faces, this years’ Wimbledon has been extremely entertaining. We got to see the meteoric rise of an American in Christopher Eubanks—who was contemplating retiring from tennis to pick up a microphone and commentate, so to be able to get to the quarterfinals and on the brink of defeating the third ranked player in the world, Daniil Medvedev will hopefully be a sign of incredible things to come.

The English Garden has also got to see the dominance of the all-time Grand Slam Leader, Novak Djokovic, and the hottest player on the planet over the past year and a half, Carlos Alcaraz, which will be the final on Sunday morning.

How the final got to be is perhaps the easiest possible path made by Djokovic and Alcaraz through the semifinals.

Each one in straight sets and each capitalized on a ton of unforced errors by both Jannik Sinner and Daniil Medvedev. The most momentum that Sinner had was after a bizarre hindrance call made by the chair umpire against Djokovic, but that momentum only lasted for a brief moment. Djokovic showed why last years’ quarterfinal was an admiration. The Men’s Singles Major Title belt holder showed his poise and complete dominance in the big moments showcasing his might without breaking a sweat 6-3, 6-4, 7-6. On the other hand, the 21-year-old Italian still has much to learn in the realm of pressure suppression. In the biggest stage of his career, Sinner double faulted three times, did not secure one break point, and only had eight aces.

In the second semifinal match, Alcaraz was even more impressive. For every slight nudge Medvedev gave, the 20-year-old Spaniard pushed back even stronger. Winning seven points consecutively and five games in a row. In the end, as for much of Daniil Medvedev’s career, he fell short on the big stage 6-3, 6-3, 6-3.

The Men’s Final is set for 9AM EST on Centre Court. Will Djokovic continue his incredible run and add yet another tally on the Major Title belt or will Alcaraz secure his second major title in a calendar year?
