Rex Ryan and John Idzik Gone! Plus End of Season Assessment

So on Sunday afternoon the Jets got their 4th Win of the season in the final game in Miami. That's where I will start first. I think that win was actually a loss. The draft order was affected with that win. Now that does sound crazy, that I am routing for a loss for a player. I don't know why I think this but I do. I want a good draft pick and a good player from that pick. I also want a decent that isn't a defensive minded coach. There is that thing with Woody Johnson wanting to be involved in day to day activities for the Jets. That really boils my blood, because that is the number 1 problem with the Jets. This is the reason that the Cowboys haven't been relevant in recent years. Second both Rex Ryan and John Idzik are done in New York. I couldn't be happier with that news. Rex Ryan and John Idzik had separate meetings with Woody Johnson on Monday morning at 7:30 AM. I liked Rex Ryan as a coach for the first couple of years. The past 2 years I haven't been a fa

Sunday Game ball

Pretty good last week of the NFL this week and it was very exciting. Aaron Rodgers the probable MVP played through pain to clinch a first round bye against Detroit. Baltimore made the playoffs with a little luck on their side. Cam Newton and the Panthers murdered Matty "Ice" in Hotlanta. In that game nothing stood out more then the Carolina Defense. One of the cornerstones last year in their run last year. Also the Panthers are the first defending champs in the NFC South. Carolina's D had no defensive scores going into Week 17, but they got 2 in Atlanta. Roman Harper had one of those scores also had 6 tackles. That is why he is my last regular season Game Ball. Week 17 Picks

MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!! Sorry about the absence of content lately I took a little vacation from the blog but now I am back. Sadly this is the last week of the regular season of the NFL, and the last time I can see my Jets this season. Anyway here are my picks for Week 17 https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1bhX1D0gsHF_-06MP_oVyEQzCPl358o524sAAttY2EJE/edit#gid=0 Don't forget to follow, comment, share if you feel up to it!

The MVP is slidelined again

So last night in San Fran the Warriors and Thunder battled it out in probably the game of the year so far this year. Steph Curry looks like the MVP right now and everyone has to catch up. Speaking of the MVP the raining MVP Kevin Durant sprained his ankle last night against the Warriors. Durant was having a nice game when he sprained his ankle with under 20 seconds in the 2nd Quarter. This is the same week where he broke the 15,000 Points margin in his career. This ankle injury is coming after a foot injury that kept him sidelined for the first month of the season. How long this injury will keep him out remains to be seen but Durant just started playing well and was having one of those games when he drove to the lane. Don't forget to follow on your way out

BREAKING: Dallas gets there man

Rajon Rando who has been in trade talks for years, and a team that has struggle especially at the guard position. Now Dallas is going to have a a great back court on already good team in the West. The move from Boston doesn't make any sense right now. They are already in a rebuilding faze and now they become one of the worst team in the league. Yes they did get Jae Crowder, and Brandan Wright, and an old Jameer Nelson who doesn't have that many left. Boston who have been talking about trades for Rondo, and this is what you get. I think the Celtics could have gotten so much more for him then you did. They addressed a weak point of their team getting Brandan Wright, but Jameer Nelson didn't need to be in that deal, he is old and probably has a year and a half left. If your Boston at least get 3 or 4 picks for a walking Triple Double like Rondo. I want to see how much more improved the Mavs get with a great pick up for them. This trade may be the start of something big and who

Padres Hot Winter Meetings don't end with Kemp

First we had the week of the Red Sox, now its the Padres turn. It started with trading for Matt Kemp at the end of the Winter Meetings. Now this week they have traded for Will Myers, and Derek Norris. After traded away Yasmani Grandal to the Dodgers for Kemp. The playoffs and this offseason have been crazy, and there are still big names out there on the market. Let's see what San Diego and the whole league do this Winter. Week 16 Picks

Sorry I didn't get the picks in time for the Thursday Night Game https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1bhX1D0gsHF_-06MP_oVyEQzCPl358o524sAAttY2EJE/edit#gid=0 Don't forget to follow on your way out

The Old Men end the Streak

So in my last article I touched on the Warriors and their 16 game winning streak. Well last night on ESPN the Memphis Grizzlies or "The Old Men" of the league ended it in prime time. Their average age is 28.7 but they don't play like that. I thought that Golden State would shoot them out of the gym. But they old men took them to school and beasted in the paint. Zebo and the better Gasol went off for 41 points combined along with a combined 17 boards between the two. Now I call the Grizz the old men because they have guys on the team Vince Carter, Tayshaun Prince, and Zach Randolph who are all over 32 years old. Memphis, don't get me wrong has a lot of talent, most of it is old, but it is there. Golden State is still the best team in the league and even the best lose sometimes. What a start for first year coach Steve Kerr who looks like a coaching guru with the start that the Warriors got off to.I can't wait until January 9th to see Cleveland play Golden State beca

The Golden State is having a Golden run

Will the Warriors ever lose again? It took overtime last night in New Orleans but Steph, Klay and the rest of the Golden boys pulled out a good win. Watching the game I thought 2 things that I thought I had to share.  1 is that Golden State is probably the hardest team to beat in the league in a long time. I believe that this team would beat the BIG 3 from Miami and they are not going to lose any time soon. I'm not saying that they will break the record but they are the best team right now, and it is early but Golden State is doing something right. Steph Curry looks like an early scoring champ and possible MVP. The NBA Season is taking form and should be a fun show! Don't forget to follow on your way out!

Sunday Game ball and is America's Team for real? Plus Sunday recap and Monday Preview

It's almost playoff time everyone we only have 2 more weeks of football. Playoff races are hot and teams like Cincinnati secured a spot in the playoffs. America's Team had a big divisional battle in Philly last night and it seemed like a playoff game. That game might have decided the NFC East because Dallas is now 10-4 and 3-2 in the Division and got revenge against the Birds from Philly. The Cowboys were 8-8 for the past 2 seasons and a reason is my Game ball for Sunday, Dez Bryant. Bryant who is arguably the best receiver in the game. Dez had 3 TD's and 114 yards on only 6 catches. Besides the officiant play Bryant led the attack with DeMarco Murray to give Dallas the overall lead in the NFC East. I think Dallas will win the division and the are for real but at the end of the day I don't think Romo can win a playoff game yet. Johnny Football was anything but money against the Bengals. Manziel was 10/18 for 80 yards and 2 picks. The 22nd Overall pick from this last yea

The "House of Cards" Thursday Game ball

It was a defensive battle on the grid iron last night in St.Louis. With Drew Stanton suffering a knee injury. So the 3rd-String Quarterback Ryan Lindley who managed the game well. He didn't throw a touchdown nor throw for over a 100 yards. Lindley only throw for 30 yards on 10 attempts. My game ball is Jerraud Powers had 7 total tackles and the game clinching bat down which was the play of  the game besides the 4 field goals that Chandler Catanzaro a place kicker kicked. This is one of the few nationally televised games this year for the 2014 season that was actually low scoring. The Cardinals who were being kind of disrespected the whole week by the media because all the attention was on St.Louis' defense who just had 2 start shut outs. Arizona played really well and even though a touchdown was not scored in this game, a 3rd-String QB beat a "Great" defense. Arizona is now 11-3 and one of the best teams in the league with an Elite Complete Defense.

What a way to end the Winter Meetings

So the Winter Meetings in San Diego were very busy and jam packed with deals and signings. Crazy deals went down and it was a circus to try to keep up with all the Blockbuster news that was coming out in boat loads. It seemed if one team made a move another team within 15 or so minutes would make bigger news. Everything was on the table so some teams, for teams like the Dodgers and Marlins it payed off. L.A made newsworthy moves while Miami's approach was quiet but still as affective. Oh! Of course Jon Lester signed with the GM that drafted him Theo Epstien who is now working things for the Cubs. The Red Sox who were quiet through the whole week traded Cespedes away for Rick Porcello and they also signed Justin Masterson. Back to the West Coast, San Diego was reportly engaged with the Dodgers and they pulled it off on the last day for possibly the biggest move of the week. The Tigers after they traded Porcello, Detroit turned around and looked at Cincinnati as a possible trade part

Crazy Start to the Winter Meetings

Trades, signings, rumors, and deals in the making are all apart of a crazy start to the Winter Meetings in San Diego. The White Sox like I touched on earlier have won the first day but there are still major pieces still in play. Jon Lester who was supposed to make up his mind on where he wants to play today but, he is still thinking, as reports say that we will make it up the latest Wednesday. The Giants, and Cubs the 2 teams that are major players in signing Lester. However the Red Sox, Yankees, Dodgers are still in the ballgame for him. Melky Cabrera is in the rumor mill because reports say that he might go to Seattle and play with his old buddy Robinson Cano. Seattle needs another bat, and outfielder, whether that is Cabrera or not that will be determined. Justin Upton has been rumored that he is going many places, as well as the Dodgers Matt Kemp. Kemp and Upton both very good power outfielders. Kemp is being pursued by San Diego heavily. Upton has been tossed around in places such

Chi-Town a Possible contender?

The past day and a quarter the White Sox have seemed like the other pair of Sox in the AL, and have made some key moves to improve their pitching. It started with the signing of ex closer for the Yankees David Roberson, and now Jeff Samardzija. They also have signed Adam LaRoche who will fill the roll of Adam Dunn as the power-hitting DH. The White Sox have not done much since '05 when they won it all. And after reports and rumors of Chris Sale their star south-paw, but now with the adding of Samardzija they have a legit 1,2 punch in their rotation. Also for their back end is some what ok with the addition of Roberson. I'm not very high on Robertson, but he has closed before and a decent closer. So I pose the question, with the Tigers, the defending AL Champs Kansas City Royals, is Chi-Town a contender? Don't forget to follow. comment, share

Monday Game Ball

It must be a week of receivers as Julio Jones had 11 receptions 259 yards with 1 TD. Ryan looked like him old self as did Jones as he torched the Green Bay secondary for 259 yards. However Aaron Rodgers has pretty much locked up the MVP with a great performance last night in the Frozen Tundra. Matty "Ice" could have easily have taken my game ball from his teammate but at the end of the day the Frozen Tundra was too cold for even ice as Matt Ryan didn't have enough fire at the end of the game on the offensive and defensive side of the ball. Jones didn't even finish the game as he had a hip problem. Hopefully we will see more performances like this for the remainder of the season from the stars of the NFL. Don't forget to follow on your way out

Sunday Game Ball

Alright so a refreshing week of football for fans this week. We bad our upsets and our blowouts. But most of all we had a ton of great performances. It was extremely hard trying to pick a game ball for this week. After about 2 hours looking at highlights and stats I have to go with A.J Green who had 11 receptions for 224 yards and a TD. Green who has been on the bench for must of the season due to injury showed that receivers dominate the game today and that he is or should be a top 5 receiver in the league. Don't forget to follow on your way out

Thursday Game Ball

After the beginning of the end it seemed like for Dallas on Thanksgiving against Philly, they responded with a dominating win in Chi-Town last night. Tony Romo who didn't play like himself at all on Thanksgiving. He didn't miss throws or under throw balls last night. He had a whole week to prepare and his full practice schedule and went out and just threw all over the suffering Bears defense. However DeMarco Murray who turned into a work horse and had 32 carries for 179 and a Touchdown. Murray who is having an MVP type season has 1606 yards rushing through 13 games. Murray who has now seen his chances at the All-Time rushing record almost disappear. Murray who might steal the MVP from Aaron Rodgers, but then again the MVP should just be renamed the Best Quarterback Award because it seems quarterbacks just steal the MVP. Murray through the first half of the season with the Packers struggling Murray was no question the MVP. Now, that Green Bay looks like a lock for the Super Bowl

BREAKING: Yankees finalize a deal with Arizona

This just in the Yankees, Tigers, and D-Backs have came to terms for a 3-team trade that would send Shane Greene to Detroit, Didi Gregorius to New York, and lefty Robbie Ray to the dessert to pitch for Arizona. The Bombers needed a shortstop after the captain Derek Jeter retired, Gregorius is no Jeter but he did hit .241 with 13 homers, 55 RBI's , and 82 runs over 182 games in past 2 seasons. Gregorius who is coming into his prime age hasn't really been on the field enough to show his full talent. He is lacking at the Dish and in the Power department but the Yanks do get a great fielder with some range. We will see what the Yankees do next as they have been very quite this offseason and need to make a splash if they want to be relevant in the AL East and in the Wildcard. Hot Stove Update

So after a Monster week of free agency this week has cooled off. Torii Hunter has pulled a LeBron and went back home to Minnesota. Chris Heisey got traded to the Dodgers from Cincinnati, which if you ask me is a very smart move. The Braves 2 weeks or so removed from trading Jason Heyward sign long time Baltimore O's rightfielder Nick Markakis to play everyday rightfield. The also signed Markakis' teammate Jim Johnson to bluster the back end of the Braves pen. Baltimore also lost their DH this week as Nelson Cruz who joined Robinson Cano in Seattle inking a 4 year $57 million contract. The Mariners also added Veteran south-paw J.A Happ to improve their pitching which is something Seattle was looking to do this offseason. Don't forget to follow, comment, and share if your up to it

The MVP returns, Brooklyn wins the battle of N.Y.C, Curry holds off the masked man and the Magic, Cavs dominate

A great Tuesday for the NBA and basketball overall as the ACC v. Big Ten tournament kicked off last night. However the NBA stole the show. First the talk of the night was Kevin Durant the MVP returned for the Thunder who now have their core healthy and look to dominate. But the Pelicans who have a young stars themselves in Anthony Davis and Tyreke Evans. They both played excellent, Evans had 30 points and 5 assists but Davis didn't out score Evans but he played better. Davis had 25 points 10 boards 6 steals and 4 block shots. The Pelicans just took over the game in the 2nd quarter. Durant had 27 points in 30 minutes and Russell Westbrook who struggled but still managed had 21 on 6-20 in 32 minutes. That isn't the only reason that the Thunder lost, because New Orleans just came to play last night and the Thunder were not ready. Westbrook can not keep taking 20 shots a game with Durant on the court. I did an article on this earlier and I had no idea that Durant was coming back so

Late Monday Game ball

Totally forgot to do the game ball so this past weeks Monday Night Game was the Jets who led for most of the game but the lack of leg, passing game, and defense failed to hold the led late against Ryan Tannehill and the young Dolphins. The Defensive front for Miami was strong and got to Geno in the second half and they loaded the box against the run.My game ball has to go to David Harris the line backer for the Jets because in this low scoring really boring dog fight was led by each defense and the Dolphins were just better at the end of the day. Harris was the light in the narrow tunnel for the Jets, he had 11 total tackles with a sack and hit Tannehill once. It was very hard picking a game ball this week and thats who I feel who played their best. My best for the Jets this offseason because at this point they need to clean the house and just start over. Its very hard for me to say but nothing is working for the Jets and for football in New York in general, so it starts with the GM an

Westbrook returns, Kobe breaks another record, LeBron and company rolls on as Melo and New York proceed to rock bottom

What a weekend for the NBA! Russell Westbrook came back from injury after missing 14 games exploded for 32 points and 8 assists and 7 boards. The Knicks who looked flat and just have no rhythm on offense and its showing on the other end of the floor. Last night Carmelo Anthony snapped after the ref blew the whistle in his ear during an inbound play. Melo received a tech for the chatter after the play was over and to me it just is frustration that comes with being one of the worst teams in the league and the lesser in New York. Its ok Melo because you can go home and sleep on the cash thats coming out of Phil Jackson's pockets. For the Thunder with Westbrook coming back it gives this a glimmer of hope to make something of this season that has gotten off to a bad start. Maybe this will motivate them to do something or brick off the rim like all of the extra possessions that will be in Russell's hands. He takes about 7 or so more shots then KD, now that he is in a suit on the sidel

Sunday Game Ball and Ray Rice

Over the weekend Ray Rice got reinstated into the NFL and he is now a free-agent. He has served his time and will try to make an impact into the NFL. It is to late in the season for a team to take a wavier on him but he will definitely be back in the league next season. With Rice coming back maybe that AP will get a better light when he comes back. Both of these guys did terrible things but they did serve there time according to the NFL's standards. With that said the games this week where terrible for anyone who picked the games for their pools. The Rams did show that they are a legit team at least for right now, and with Sam Bradford coming back they can only get better. Tre Mason is my honorable mention this week as the young up and coming Houston receiver DeAndre Hopkins had 238 receiving yards on only 9 catches and 2 touchdowns. Hopkins doesn't get enough credit around the league because he doesn't play like this every week. The young kid is in his second season from C

Thanksgiving Game Balls

I hope you all had a great safe and Happy Thanksgiving. Mine was full of great family time turkey, and of course football. 3 really good games. In the 1 o'clock game Alshon Jeffery showed everyone that he is still a dominate receiver in the NFL and the main target on da Bears. Jeffery had 9 receptions with 71 yards and 2 touchdowns. Even though the Lions beat down on the Bears Jeffery gets my game ball. In the 4 o'clock Eagle destruction of the Cowboys, LeSean McCoy had 159 yards on 25 attempts and a Touchdown. McCoy who seemed like he was moving in slow motion as he waited for his blocks and busted off some brutal long runs against the depleted Dallas Cowboys. Tony Romo who just didn't look like the leader of "America's Team" as he under threw and missed throws that he normally makes. None the less Philadelphia just went into Dallas ran all over the Cowboys and took care of business then had Thanksgiving dinner. Lastly in the late night prime time NFC Champio

Hot Stove Update

Earlier today I did a piece on Bostons' crazy week. This Hot Stove updates have become kind of daily now and I think I will do it daily. Other than Boston Texas and the Dodgers are busy. The Rangers are talking to the Braves about Justin Upton. The Power hitting left-fielder who has been in trade talks for a while now. The Braves have already traded Jason Heyward to St.Louis, and are possibly looking to rebuild, and in an unstable division its going to be a crazy ride to see who comes out on top. Texas is looking to move Shin-Soo Choo to right field, and are looking for a power bat to fill the corner-outfield void. Upton who is a very good bat that Texas needs in the middle of their lineup. Upton could possibly be the bat that they are missing since the Nelson Cruz exist. Upton who hit 29 homers and had 102 RBI's last season for Atlanta. A few years ago he hit 31 homers in the hot air of Arizona for the Diamondbacks. It seems that every good year that Upton has the team is look

Red Sox'd Hot Stove

Over the past week or so the Boston Red Sox have stolen the headlines in the MLB free agency this offseason. Pablo Sandoval has signed a 5 year and at least 90 Million, also the Soxs' are talking to former LA Dodger Shortstop Hanley Ramirez. Ramirez is reportedly finalizing a deal with Boston for 5 years and 90 Million. Although the Red Sox are improving the left-side of their infield they still don't have any pitching. Lester is reportedly talking to the Giants, and if you are Boston and you do sign Ramirez and Sandoval what do you do with Xander Bogaerts which was your shortstop or third baseman of the future. Many teams that are in need of a young shortstop would love to have him. Bogaerts did have a terrible year but if I'm Boston I wouldn't give up on my future that quickly. This lineup will be something if Ramirez actually finalizes that deal. On the other hand with all the money that you spent, how will you win games if your pitching staff is suffering? Should be

Catch of the Year!!! Sunday Recap and Game Ball

So yesterday was an interesting day in the NFL. Sanchez got to his winning was with the Eagles, Kaepernick barely beat Washington, Romo led a 4th quarter game winning drive with a little help from the chain gang, and Odell Beckham Jr. showed that he is here to stay like Mike Evans did last week. This receiving class that came up in last April's draft is something special. Beckham Jr. had the Catch of the Year last night with a full extension one handed diving catch in the endzone. I still can't believe that he made that catch because his arm looks likes its going to dislocate because of how far he went back to get the ball. That play will definitely be an ESPY nominee for play of the year. The catch now, along with his crazy yellow mohawk and nice goatee is the type of swagger that Beckham possesses when he takes the field for the G-Men. When Cruz comes back this receiving core will be one of the best in league and full of big plays, that might land the Giants in the playoffs i

Hot Stove Update

So over the past week rumors speculation, and signings have dominated the headlines. Jon Lester and Pablo "The Panda" Sandoval have deals on the table from Boston. Oakland went out and signed Billy Butler for 3 years and $30 Million. Jason Heyward got traded to St.Louis for Shelby Miller. Doug Fister and Jordan Zimmermann are available in Washington. Russell Martin went home North of the Boarder to Toranto for $82 Million over 5 years, and possibly getting involved with the Panda. Let's see whats happens this week, and what big name will go next? Sunday and Monday Game Ball

So this weeks game balls are 2 players that are up and coming stars in the NFL. But, first the recap for Sundays games, well that's very easy. Blow out city in all of the games on Sunday. Aaron Rodgers had a field day against Mark Sanchez and the Eagles! You could here the boo birds from Green Bay. Monday was a come from behind by the terrible towels in the Music City. Big Ben had 207 yards passing with one score, but the star of last night and my game ball is Le'veon Bell. He carried the ball 33 times for 204 yards and a rushing touchdown. Bell who is a good young back showed that he can carry a team literally on his back. Big Ben only had 3 more passing yards then Bell had rushing. And in the freezing cold Music City the rushing attack seemed to warm the spirits of the entire Pittsburgh team. My other game ball is the young stud wide out from Tampa Bay Mike Evans. Evans who last year was catching passes from Johnny Football, had 209 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns in a route

Hot Stove Update

So this week was the first week of signings. Michael Cuddyer signed with the Mets to play with his best friend David Wright. Giancarlo Stanton is talking about a $320 Million deal with the Marlins. Victor Martinez inked a 4 year $70 Million deal to stay in Detroit. Who will drop next and where? Reports are the Cubs, Dodgers, and Pirates are interested in Russell Martin. Theo Epstein the Cubs GM is trying to make a splash this offseason. He is talking to Washington about Jordan Zimmermann. The Cubs are also perusing the Royals right-hander James Shields, as well as former Red Sox and Athletic Jon Lester. The Mariners reportedly interested in Hanley Ramirez, and other top bats. Lets sit back and enjoy the news Don't forget to follow on your way out!

Trout is the fifth youngest MVP overall. Trout had 7.4 Wins Above Replacement (WAR) which led the majors. Kershaw is the first National League pitcher since Bob Gibson to win both the Cy Young and MVP. Kluber won his first Cy Young after a up and down career Runner up for NL MVP was Giancarlo Stanton had 18 first place votes Felix Hernandez finished second in the AL Cy young voting Don't forget to follow on your way out!

Week 11 Picks

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1bhX1D0gsHF_-06MP_oVyEQzCPl358o524sAAttY2EJE/edit#gid=0 Wow Week 11, here are my picks Don't forget to follow on your way out!

Kobe sets another record

Last night Kobe Bryant set yet another NBA record last night in Memphis. He shot 10-26 which made him the all-time leader in missed shots in NBA history. Bryant passed John Halicek who had 13,417 missed shots in his career. Kobe who shot a signature fade away from about 14 feet. Kobe who hasn't really payed attention to records said after that the game that he doesn't worry about that sort of stuff. Bryant who is playing his 19th season in the NBA is arguably one of the best that ever played the game. I'm sure Kobe Bryant isn't fazed by this record but the 1-6 start that his Lakers have. Jeremy Lin who had some miss communication at the end of the game heard 2 for 1 instead of a game tieing 3 that would have possibly sent the game into overtime, but who knows Kobe could have missed that one too. Don't forget to follow on your way out!

Monday Game ball

In yesterday's blow out win over the Panthers last night one star rose above all. That player was former Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez, who last night looked like a poor man's Peyton Manning. Sanchez threw for 332 with 2 TD's against a God awful Carolina team. I'm still not a believer in Mark Sanchez, although he is my game ball for Monday. Sanchez who travels to Green Bay to face the discount double checking Green Bay Packers. This is a test to see if Sanchez has found it or not. The Packers aren't the best defense in the world but they are a defense that can make Sanchez turn over the ball. I can say that I'm not routing for Mark Sanchez because as a Jets fan I can see what he can do as a quarterback. I thought for sure his playing days where over just like Geno Smith's but that's neither here or there. The question is now can Mark Sanchez lead Philly to the playoffs or will the boo birds come out and the Eagles miss the playoffs Don't forget to

AL and NL Manger of the year

The AL and NL mangers of the year where announced today! Buck Showalter the Baltimore Orioles won it for the like 20th time. He owns that award in a sense because he is a great baseball man and he knows what he is talking about. And on the NL side Matt Williams the first year manger of the Washington Nationals got the honor. Williams who replaced long time Nats skipper Davy Johnson. The Nationals had a pretty good season although in my book they underachievied. Washington who had one of the best rotations in the senior circuit didn't make it out of the division series. Don't forget to follow on your way out

Sunday Game Ball

Yesterday the Jets had a great win against Pittsburgh, The Lions won on the last drive, Beast Mode ran all over the Giants. The biggest game however was the overtime win the Super Dome, or the Sunday night game, it was the Patrick Peterson led Cardinals bringing Arizona back into the game against St.Louis. Peterson who with no question had the best game out of any of the players yesterday. Dez Bryant across the pond had a great game but then I had a second thought and realized it was against the Jags. Nothing against Jacksonville but they are clearly the worst team in the NFL and Bryant had a field day. Peterson, yes his game was against the Rams, but Austin Davis beat the defending champs Seattle Seahawks. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I would like to know what you think about yesterdays game. I apologize that I haven't been posting that much lately, or post the main subjects of this blog. Don't forget to follow on your way out!

Rocket Red Hot Start

Last night James Harden, Dwight Howard, and the Red Hot Houston Rockets. They are now 6-0 on the young season, and with the 98-81 win over the defending champion Spurs, the Rockets look almost unbeatable. Granted that Popovich was sitting Tim Duncan and Ginobili the Rockets still came out firing and Dwight Howard capitalized on the absence of Duncan. Howard who finished with 32 points and 16 rebounds does have a weak put in his game still, and this was pointed out by Charles Barkley in the halftime show. They showed video of the Rockets shoot around in the morning and Howard being taught how to post up by Rockets head coach Kevin McHale. And Barkley brought up a good point Howard who is in his 11th year in the league should have been taught this already. Once Barkley pointed this out I saw how often Howard catches and turns and faces. He played great last night, but if teams catch on to this I wonder how it will effect the Rockets chances of competing for a title. Harden and Howard are

MLB Gold Gloves announced

AL Winners 1st Base- Eric Hosmer 2nd Base- Dustin Pedroia  Shortstop- J.J Hardy  3rd Base- Kyle Seager Leftfield- Alex Gordon Centerfield- Adam Jones  Rightfield-  Nick Markakis  Catcher- Salvador Perez  Pitcher- Dallas Keuchel  NL Winners 1st Base-  Adrian Gonzalez  2nd Base- DJ LeMahieu  Shortstop- Andrelton Simmons  3rd Base- Nolan Andenado Leftfield- Christian Yelich  Centerfield- Juan Lageras  Rightfield- Jason Hayward  Catcher- Yadier Molina  Pitcher- Zach Greinke Now I don't agree with 2 positions 1 for each league for the golden gloves. Adrian Beltre should have won the glove Seager played great defense but not be considered for a Gold Glove. And now the National League side Brandon Philips should have one another Gold Glove at 2nd because frankly he just owns this award at 2nd. Don't forget to follow on your way out!

Not the Lebron Cleveland thought they were getting

Last night LeBron and the Cavs lost bad in Portland 101-82. James acted passive at times, and not like the LeBron that played in Miami over the last 4 years.  James didn't even score in the second half, he finished with 11 points, 7 boards, and 7 assists. Kevin Love, Kyrie, and LeBron just aren't in sync on the offensive side of the ball. Struggling mightily at times trying to find a source of offense in the second half. Coach David Blatt is facing the same problem as Eric Spoelstra faced in 2010 when the Miami Big 3 was gelling together. We all knew this was coming for the Cavs but not this bad. Losing 2 games that they should have had. No doubt that at the end of the season Cleveland will be at the top of the Eastern Conference because the East is so bad. The question is how will the Cavs find offense? How long will it take them to gel? How long will it take LeBron take to get chemistry with his new teammates? Don't forget to follow on your way out!

Maddon to the Cubs

Throughout the week there has been rumors of Joe Maddon the former Tampa Bay Rays manager going to Chicago next season and mange the Cubs. The rumors surfaced the day of the 7th Game of the World Series. Now you can't name a manager during the World Series. So the Cubs waiting with "Experts" saying that the reports were false. But Maddon is getting introduced today in Chi-Town. This partnership between Maddon and Epstein is a perfect match because both man think the same. This is the prototype of a manager that Theo Epstein would want to manage a team that he puts together. The Cubs could do big things in the upcoming years. Don't forget to follow on your way out.

Sunday Game Ball

A great week of football with great games, blowouts and yet another Brady/Manning matchup. This so called rivalry that the NFL has put on Manning and Brady doesn't exist. Brady is something like 10-6 against Manning. Peyton only has to memorable wins against Brady. The 2006 AFC title game and last years AFC Championship Game. Defense is always big key along with the punt/kick teams, and the Patriots just out played Denver in those areas. Also Peyton in the last couple times he has faced Brady, it has been in New England. With that said Big Ben again is my game ball, yes two weeks in a row Roethlisberger has dominated a team. Last week it was embarrassed the Colts, and this week it was their rival the Baltimore Ravens. Roethlisberger had 340 passing yards with 6 TD's against the Ravens Defense that murdered Big Ben and Pittsburgh the last time they played.   Don't forget to follow on your way out!

What happen in the Boston Garden?

The Nets last night looked like they were still playing preseason basketball. Joe Johnson was 7-19 from the field with 19 points and 6 boards. Mirza Teletovic had 20 points in just 23 minutes, he also grabbed 6 rebounds. Rajon Rando had 13 points, 12 assists, and 7 rebounds in his return to basketball proving that without him they are a totally different team. The Nets just didn't seem in sync last night from the opening tip. The got pushed around at the very beginning and just couldn't get on the same page. That was some what expected with the new coach, and his new system with some new additions. Hopefully the starters can get on the same page that Teletovic was on last night because he was on fire! In a bad loss its hard to say anybody played well but Teletovic really played well, he was the hot hand, and the at one point the only offense the Nets had. A 121-105 loss in your first game of the season is not the way you want to break the new season. Tonight however it is all a

The Bandwagon ran out of gas... The dynasty lives on

The Royals had life, and it quickly disappeared last night in the 9th. The air in the Big K just went out of the building as Salvador Perez popped out to end the game. Madison Bumgarner proved to criques that he can pitch in the biggest game, and that pitch counts are overrated. Bumgarner who had 117 pitches had 50+ last night in a 5 inning save to win the World Series. The Giants who have won 3 of the last 5 World Series always seem as an under the radar team when it gets down to the dog days of summer. On the Royals side they showed especially in the ninth, that they need to get a big bat in the middle of that lineup. The power shortage is something teams in the postseason in have shown in recent years. Like the Tigers, the last 3 years, the Yankees 2 years ago, the Cardinals in last years World Series, and this year the game after the Royals scored 10 runs, looking like they would run the Giants all the way back to San Francisco. Maybe they under estimated the Giants pitching, or ma

Back in the fight

With a dominant performance by the entire Royals team last night with a 10-0 win facing elimination in Game 6 last night in KC. The Royals who have faced adversity all postseason fought back into the series with great hitting and even better pitching. Yordano Ventura who was remembering Oscar Tarvaras who died the night before in a car crash in the Dominican Republic. Ventura went 7 strong in the blow out victory. Tonight in Game 7 the probables are Tim Hudson for the Giants, and Jeremy Guthrie for the Royals. In my opinion the Royals should send Big Game James Shields to the mound, even though he has been shaky in this World Series and most of the playoffs. If Shields could go 5 innings and give up less then 2 runs the Royals could hand it off to the back end of the bullpen and fight there way back in if they are losing at the time. Pitchers like James Shields who are considered big game pitchers live for moments, and games like this. All we can do now is sit back, relax, and watch so

Randle Done

Julius Randle broke his leg in his NBA debut last night against the Dallas Mavericks. Randle who was supposed to be a prototype Power Forward/Center player that the Lakers drafted with the 7th Overall pick last June. Randle broke it on the way to the basket in the 4th. The play seemed routine, but because of the physical game that was played maybe there was added contact. Will Kobe get fined for the flop that he did when Dwight Howard was swinging his elbows after a defensive rebound. It didn't take long for the first flop of the season either. Usually I would think it would be LeBron or D-Wade or maybe Paul Pierce but Kobe?! He has throughout his career is regarded as one of the best on-ball defenders in the league, but sooner or later with his old age he has reverted to winning Oscars on the basketball court, rather then guarding up and playing good defense. How heavily will the Randle injury effect the post play on both sides of the court for the Lakers. Even though Julius Randl

Are the Royals in trouble?

Madison Bumgarner, Brandon Crawford, and the Giants took a 3-2 lead in the Fall Classic with a 5-0 win over KC last night to timely hitting by Brandon Crawford who wasn't shown up since the Grand Slam in the Wild Card game in the Steel City. Bumgarner who had another great game going 9 giving up 4 hits and striking out 8. The Royals who have gotten outplayed by the Bay by the Giants aren't out of it just yet because the have to face Jake Peavy and Tim Hudson two pitches who are very good but lack experienced in a big game like this. Peavy who had a good game in our nations Capital in the Division Series hasn't pitched like that since then. Hudson who has been proven very beatable in this postseason has been scheduled to pitch Game 7. Would the the Giants send Bumgarner on 3 days rest out for game 7? In my opinion yes they should, my reasoning behind this is, if he could go possibly 6 or 7 innings the back of the Giants bullpen could hold off the Royals weak offense for 4 in

Sunday Game Ball and Sunday recap

Yesterday was close nail bitters to blow out wins, and people losing their jobs. In Carolina it was another defensive battle. Russell Wilson and Cam Newton got beat up yesterday by the opposing defense. Wilson got the last punch however throwing a laser to Luke Wilson. Across the pound a delay of game penalty saved the game for the Lions as Matt Prater booted a 48 yard game winner after getting the penalty. Geno Smith and Rex Ryan have lost their job in my eyes after the 43-23 beat down in Metlife. The only thing Jet fans have to look forward to is the upcoming draft. It's a very disappointing season in Gotham because this was the year that they were supposed to have the offense that would compete and take pressure off the defense. The Jets are still last in the league with a turnover difference of -13. The one player that stood out to me the most was Big Ben Roethlisberger who had 522 yards passing and 6 touchdowns. Roethlisberger is player who in the Brady/Manning dominated Era h

Has Geno lost his job in Gotham

What an upsetting, terrible, and unwatchable performance by Geno Smith this afternoon in Metlife. Smith who was 2-8 for 5 yards in 3 picks, most likely lost his job to Micheal Vick. Vick who also had 3 turnovers look decent but still disappointing. Where do the Jets go from here? Do they sign Matt Sims from the practice squad? Do they sign a quarterback? They can not afford to draft another quaterback. Percy Harvin didn't even show up today, and the run game which was one of the Main points that Rex Ryan when he came to New York said they would improve on. Well if your going to improve at something don't you think you would run the ball like you did last week, because of the success you had? The Jets offensive coordinator and offensive players turn into Monkeys the week after a win. Rex Ryan in my opinion has officially lost his job after a week like this week. Geno Smith has played his last down in a Jet uniform, and Marty Mornhinweg has also lost his job. John Idzik has some

Is Nash Done?

Steve Nash has hurt his back and is reportedly done for the year with out even stepping on the court to a play minute of meaningful basketball for the Lakers this season. Nash, whose production has significantly decreased due to age and injuries since he join the Lakers. He approved the trade a couple years back to be closer to his kids in L.A. Last year he admitted that he is only playing for the money at this point in his career. The 2 time MVP of the league who is a Hall of Famer for sure should collect the last pay check with the Lakers this season, then retire and be with his kids and family. What does Nash really bring the Lakers except for a contract that is to high for a player of his age. Nash, yes he is a good shooter when he is out on the floor and he brings lots of leadership and he is a veteran guy in the locker room. But that L.A backcourt needs some new tires with Kobe coming back from his injury. Jeremy Lin will get another chance to prove himself in a big media based c

Royals Bounce back

Last night in Game 2, Royals baseball was played to a tee. Great pitching along with great defense and timely hitting has been their formula to win games this postseason. This time it was a huge 6th inning caped off by a 2 run homer by Omar Infante, which caused some chatter. Hunter Strickland the Giants pitcher at the time was screaming at Salvador Perez as he crossed home plate. The Royals bench cleared but nobody was run. Billy Butler, and Perez had big hits in the game and just hit a double off Strickland. The Royals bullpen did its usually business shutting down the Giants with the fire throwing combo of Herrera, Davis, and Holland. All three of these guys throw 95+ with some nasty secondary pitches. 4 guys in the Royals lineup had 2 hits a piece to seal the 7-2 blow out of San Fran. Although one thing that doesn't make any sense to me was that the Royals up 5 at the time put their closer Greg Holland on the mound in the 9th. Yeah I get the fact that you have to get a guy some

Giants Dominate Game 1

Madison Bumgarner yet again dominated postseason batters. I saw a very interesting stat last night while watching the last outs of last nights blow out win in Game 1 of the World Series. Madison Bumgarner in 22 innings pitched in the World Series has given up only 1 run. To me that is amazing, I mean this is better then some of the postseason greats like Mariano Rivera or Dennis Eckersley, Andy Pettitte, Curt Schilling, and others. Hunter Pence got the game off with a bang with a 2 run homer in the top of the 1st thanks to a meatball of a fastball that he deposited it into deep right center field. Pence who is probably the most unfundamental baseball player who ever lived. Pence went 2/3 with 2 hits and 2 RBI's. Gregor Blanco scored twice with 2 walks. On the Royals side of the field not much happened as they only totaled 3 hits off the San Fran South Paw. Salvador Perez who homered to left was the only run suffered in a masterful performance by Bumgarner. Big Game James Shields on

Monday Game Ball

I forgot to do the Monday Game Ball because of the news of Oscar Pistorius yesterday, but here it is. Now this game was all Texans early as they jumped out to a early 13-0 led. But them some great defense and quick easy offense turned the tides just as the boo birds started chirping in the big ketchup bottle also known as Heinz Field. My game ball goes out to the entire Pittsburgh Defense. 2 fumbles and a juggled interception but the Steelers offense on the field multiple times before half. As Big Ben put a fork in Houston the defense could just sit back in coverage and protect the led. It was a very slow game with an eventful quarter. I thought that Houston would awaken after half but they just got further and further in quicksand not allowing themselves to get back themselves in the game. But what seemed out of no wear the Houston offense finally put some gas in the tank and tried pushing themselves back in the game with a field goal with 4;12 to go but a costly fumble pretty much th

Pistorius Sentenced

Oscar Pistorius who is the famous double-amputee Paralympic who has a record 6 gold metals was sentenced this morning for 5 years for shooting and killing his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp back in February of 2013. The International Paralympic Committee has banned Pistorius for 5 years which is the same amount of time he was in jail. He can be released after 10 months and serve the rest of the time under house arrest. The (IPC) said "the sentence means Pistorius is ineligible to compete for the entire five years regardless of where it is served." This rules out Oscar Pistorius for the 2016 games in Rio. I am still baffled at how long the South African Government took to sentence Pistorius in this case. It is clear that Oscar Pistorius killed Reeva Steenkamp it is even on tape. However Pistorius was not found guilty for the two gun related to the illegal possession of ammunition and firing through the sunroof of a car. Pistorius on record saying that she might have been an intrud

Don't forget about Baseball

The 2014 World Series Tonight 8:07 EST on Fox Many people might have forgot that baseball is still going on, with the long break that the majors has taken so they wouldn't have to compete for viewers with football over the weekend. What baseball should have done was schedule Game 1 for this past Saturday at like 4 pm or something like that. The college football games this past week were absolute blow outs, and it was every single nationally wide broadcast-ed game. MLB could have got the game over before the Irish and Florida State squared off at 8:30 EST on Saturday night. They could have Game 2 last night because not many people are interested in two teams that aren't relevant in the NFL today. Anyway it is a huge ace off tonight in Game 1 and thanks to Mike Trout, Derek Jeter, and the AL All-Star team the Royals have home field in the fall classic. I am extremely excited to see whats in store because I believe that this is the greatest postseason games and talent wise th

Percy is happy

Yesterday afternoon the Jets introduced their new Star wide out Percy Harvin to Gotham. Harvin said that the locker room embraced him and made him feel welcome. He also said that he was excited to be here and that he likes the coaching staff. Reports came out over the weekend of him saying that the Jets having all the right pieces in the eyes of Harvin. Well the most important thing is that the locker room situation is right and that there are no problems involving Percy. Rex Ryan the Jets head coach said that he is not worried about the situation in the locker room of the Jets. If Harvin is right and the Jets have all the right pieces then the Jets should be primed to make a strong push for the playoffs throughout the rest of the season. With the acquisition of Percy Harvin look for the Jets to give Percy his touches yes, but turn more focus on throwing the ball to the slot receiver which would be Jeremy Kerly. Kerly can go back to what I think he does the best beating linebackers and

A Cyclone in the Windy City

After a game that many experts that know and are around football thought that is a game that Da Bears should have had. I however picked the Dolphins to win with the spread but that is besides the fact. Brandon Marshall bashed his teammate quarterback and best friend Jay Cutler. Cutler didn't really play all that well, he had 190 yards passing and 1 TD to go along with a pick. Marshall who was clearly upset at Cutler and the entire offense. He commented the offense line and Jeffery and Bennett on the play of them. Marshall commented on all of the offense except Jay Cutler. For some reason that as soon as I heard the comments from Marshall it was odd not hearing Cutler's name come out of Marshall's mouth. The Bears are 3-4 and have lost all the games at home. Cutler did throw a key interception and Marshall said and repeated that quote "he can' t turn the ball over." Saying that it is "Unacceptable" . Yes they do need to take care of the ball and get t

Monday Game Ball Recap and Monday Night Prediction

As many of you know by now Peyton Manning has past Brett Farve with his 509 touchdown pass against the San Francisco 49ers last might in Denver. Now you would think he be my Sunday game ball correct? Well you would be wrong he would probably be 1a on the game ball list. Yes he did past Farve on the All-time list for touchdowns and yes he is one of the Greatest to EVER play but thats all everyone is talking about this morning and probably all week. It gets tiring really quick. If he hasn't stapled his ticket to Canton Ohio, by now then there is something wrong with people. The Rams upset the defending champs yesterday after Seattle traded their most explosive weapon to the Jets. News came out about the trade of Harvin and reasons why he was traded allegedly. He supposedly punched Golden Tate now with the Lions in the face a day or so before the Super Bowl last February. Looking back at pictures and you can Google them until your blue in the face because there is no evidence of a bla

BREAKING:JETS GET PERCY HARVIN

Yes it is true the New York Jets get an electric weapon in Percy Harvin. Seattle who was looking to get him involved more in the offense was shipped off to New York because yet again besides glimpses of amazing play Harvin had locker room problems yet again. This same reason that he was traded to Seattle. Besides his personal issues in the locker room the Jets get the Number 2 receiver that they desperately needed. Jeremy Kerly who wasn't been getting his chance to shine in the past couple of weeks will now get to go back to his true position in the slot being able to burn linebackers and safeties. It should be very exciting to watch. I know I will be glued to the TV next sunday. Let's go Jets!! Don't forget to follow on your way out!

THE GIANTS WIN THE PENNANT!! THE GIANTS WIN THE PENNANT!!!

That sounds so familiar doesn't it? Well it happened not only October 3rd 1951 the infamous "shot heard round the world" hit by the then New York Giants outfielder Bobby Thomson, but happen last night by another Giants outfielder this one playing for San Francisco. Travis Ishikawa who wasn't even on the team to begin the season is now playing everyday leftfield for the Giants. Ishikawa said to ESPN reporter Pedro Gomez he doesn't even remember running the bases. And it seemed like 1951 as Ishikawa was rounding third with this teammates running out to party with him as he was coming home. Guys like Tim Hudson who have had good careers who are feeling like a little kid going to their first World Series. The game winning Pennant clinching Bomb into right field sums up the entire 2014 Postseason, one of the best in recent memory. The games just keep getting better and better. Now the team of Destiny in the Kansas City Royals are playing a team of Dynasty in the San Fr

Heart Break in Foxborough and Monday Game Ball

Geno and the Jets lost a heart pounding game last night. Chris Ivory had possibly the game of his career last night in a losing effort thanks to the blocking game winning field goal attempt. Ivory is my game ball for Monday. He had 107 yards rushing but to me it felt like 307. Ivory pounded the Pats on the ground channeling his inner Marshon Lynch. He got his touchdown diving over the pile with 9:02 to go in the 3rd. Ivory also had a very important 18 yards receiving. Kerly had probably the most important catch of the night on the last drive out running a pats defender to gain much needed yards for the attempted field goal which we all know was blocked. This is hands down the best game Geno Smith has played in his brief football career. He out played Brady in my eyes, he kept plays alive when he was trapped and ran out of it for first downs. Had a great drive at the end of the game in less with less then 1:10 to go in the game. Doing everything that was asked of him and doing it to a h

Only in the National League and Dominate Pitching in the AL

The Giants won on a bunt from Blanco in the 10th inning yesterday afternoon. That only would happen in the National League. You wouldn't see an American League, no team would be dropping down a bunt with no outs and two on in the 10th. They would be swinging away trying to get the runner from second to score on a base hit. The wind was swirling winds by the bay made for some interesting fly balls out in right field. Hunter Pence got the scoring starting with a doubled to center scoring Posey. Travis Ishikawa later in the first doubled off the center of the right field wall thanks to the winds knocking the ball down. All four runs were credited to Cards starter John Lackey. Kolton Wong who hit the Game Winning solo bomb to win Game 3 and in Game 4 he tripled off the right field wall again thanks to those crazy winds. Wongs triple cleared the bases and made it very interesting. In the 7th Randal Grichuck hit a solo shot off the foul poll to tie the game. All that led to the walk off

Rangers Islanders

Well that wasn't what I was expecting from the Rangers last night. Henrik Lundqvist didn't have the greatest game of his career, to say the least. The Rangers had a ton of costly turnovers in their on zone that led to quick easy goals for the Islanders. Rick Nash had a good game with two goals along with a Derick Drassard scored a goal in the 2nd Period with 3:50 to go. John Tavares the young Islander star had 4 shoots on goal with an assist and a goal. The Rangers look to rebound from the awful performance last night with a game against the Hurricanes at MSG at 7 PM EST on Thursday. Hopefully the Rangers will play better as they are 1-3 with only 2 points on the young season I will be watching again tonight Lets Go Rangers Don't forget to follow on your way out

NHL is back

Yes it is that time of year for a very select amount of people. THE NHL IS BACK!!! Now you may say hey nobody cares about hockey man! Well even if I can't name more then 5 Rangers that are on the team this year I am very excited to the Blue Shirts back on the ice ready to go to war. This is the most interest in hockey that I have ever had and lucky for me the Blue Shirts are actually pretty good. They are the defending Eastern Conference Champs and this young season are 1-2 with 2 points. They play tonight 7 pm EST against the New York Islanders. I'll be tuning in for sure. Don't forget to follow on your way out!

Monday game ball

Another good game on Monday Night Football. The rookie running back Tre Mason had an impressive first quarter and Austin Davis did as well the Rams jumped to a 14-0 led after 1. Caepernik led his team back in the 2nd wish a last minute 80 yard strike to Brandon Llyod, the pass was the longest TD pass of Caepernik's career college or professional. In the second half more niners as Caepernik led his team back as Davis faded late throwing a pick 6 to Dontae Johnson that iced the game with just about a minute left. So with that said Colin Caepernik is my Monday Game Ball with 343 passing yards, he was 22/36 on passing attempts. He also threw 3 touchdowns, the most impressive was the one that he drifted left and threw a dart to Boldin for a score. Caep also had 37 yards on the ground. Proving to doubters that he is a elite quarterback in the NFL. This probably the most impressive game all around that San Fran has played all season granted it was against the sorry ass Rams but, none the

Sunday game ball

It hurts me to say this but Tony Romo is my game ball for sunday. He didn't have the must flashest game but he throw for 250 yards 2 touchdowns and led his team to a win in Seattle against the 12 man and the Seahawks. Romo tipped toed out of 2 sacks and throwing a dart to Williams fie a key first down to keep the drive alive. Demarco Murray did have his 6 consecutive 100 yard rushing game tieing Jim Brown for the must 100 yard games to start a season. This almost redeems himself for week 1 embarrassment of a game. But the Cowboys are 5-1 and will make things interesting. Although I don't think they are the best team in the NFC. It's to tough to know right now but it will be a great watch down the stretch. Don't forget to follow on your way out

What a NLCS

Just wow what a game the Giants coming back in the 7th and then Big City having a homerun then the wild pitch the Molina injury does he make that pick? Wong hits an absolute bomb to win the game and his jersey gets ripped in half a great pitchers duel just what else to you say? Leave your comments below Don't forget to follow on your way out

Thursday Game Ball

As I predicted Colby Fleener and T.Y Hilton had touchdowns. Andrew Luck picked apart the defense for the most part. Hilton had 223 yards with just 9 receptions and a touchdown. Now as strong as his performance was probably the best showing for a receiver this season J.J Watt was a handful and that is why he is my game ball. He had 7 tackles, 2 sacks, and a fumble returned for a touchdown. If you go back and watch the game tap again you will see the double teams had to be made for Watt, and he still what he did last night. Watt is a Beast and should just take the Defense Player of the Year right now. Nobody is even close to him. Watt has more touchdowns this season then the whole entire Jets Receiving core combined, that says something! Just close your eyes and imagine what this defensive front will look like when Jadavon Clowney comes back from injury all the disruptions that will happen in the back field. It might compare with the Iron Curtain of the Steelers, maybe just maybe... Do

NLCS set

Last night the NLCS was set in dramatic fashion. Matt "Big City" Adams hit a 3 run shot into the Cards bullpen off a hanger from Kershaw. Trevor Rosenthal locked down the 9th with his fireballs as St.Louis returns to the league championship series for the fourth time in as many years. This is the first time a team has done that since the Yankees from 1998-2001. I have made references to the mid-90's Yanks before calling this years KC team a very similar team. St.Louis however has shown success even with losing their Right Fielder and a hitter in the middle of their order Carlos Beltran to the Yanks for $48 million this offseason. Also they traded Allen Craig their first baseman and Joe Kelly a young starter. Matt Adams proved his worth with the 3-run game winning shot and proved the Cardinals right for trading Craig put him over at first. San Francisco by the bay clinched their series as well thanks to a wild pitch from Aaron Barrett as Joe Panik raced home from third. B

Monday Game ball

This unlike yesterday was a no-brainer to me. Russell Wilson is my Game Ball winner for Monday night. I knew that the Redskins defense couldn't stick with Wilson before the game and they proved me right. My number 1 pick this week ended up being correct with Seattle. I almost gave the ball to Percy Havin who had only 4 catches for 27 yards but keep in mind that 2 touchdowns were taken away for Harvin due to penalties. Anyway Wilson had 201 passing yards and 2 touchdowns. He also had 122 yards on the ground being Seattle leading rusher with a touchdown to with the 122. Week 6 Picks are in the works. Don't forget to follow on your way out!

Sunday Game ball, Sunday recap, and Picks

This was a real tough one this week because yesterday was an amazing day of football. 2 overtime thrillers, 3 comebacks two of them led by offense. Orton leading Buffalo to a 3 point win in Detroit. The Carolina defense taking over the game so the struggling Panthers offensive could muster enough points to pull off the victory. A under the radar comeback in the Dome down in New Orleans. Tampa Bay almost pulling off the upset but still covering. Khiry Robinson with a Monster run to win the game for the Saints on the first drive of OT. But the greatest play of any of those players was Brain Hoyer taking the Browns and charging back down 25 going into the half. Hoyer who has been under a ton of bad press, now that Johnny Football is wearing a Browns Uni. Anyway Hoyer had 292 yards with 3 passing touchdowns 2 of which went to Travis Benjamin. If yesterday was any indication tonights Seahawk Redskins game should be a great one on MNF. C'mon man my Picks weren't all that great this

ALCS set, NLCS still to come

Both Baltimore and KC clinched last night. Baltimore 2-1, and the Royals in crushing fashion 8-3 as Big Game James wins yet another big game, he even left hearing a chant similar to the President and that was " 4 more years" as Shields is a free agent after this year. Baltimore thanks to the best signing of the offseason in Nelson Cruz hit a 2 run homer to clinch the series in Detroit for the O's. KC did it in different style not by stealing bags but flashing the leather and crushing the ball. Alex Gordon hit a bases clearing triple in the 2nd to start it off. Lerenzo Cain made to highlight catches on way to Bubbles flying in the clubhouse. Don't forget to follow on the way out.

The longest game in MLB playoff history

The Washington Nationals and San Francisco Giants played an 18 inning 6 hour and 23 minute marathon Saturday night. The game started started at 5:30 EST and ended just after midnight. The game started off as a pitchers duel between Tim Hudson and Jordan Zimmerman. Hudson who went 7 and a third innings with 8 K's 7 hits and only 1 run. Zimmerman who did him better going 8 and two thirds innings. At one point in the game retiring 20 straight Giants gave up a key walk to Joe Panik in the 9th and a Buster Posey single was taken out. Pablo Sandaval hit a ringing double which scored Panik to tie the game and almost scored Posey who was thrown out at the plate. 9 innings a 14 inning stretch and a second Presidents race later Brendan Belt hit a home run into the Nationals bullpen to give the Giants a 2-1 led and later the win. What will game 3 have in store after the marathon of game 2? Let's find out... Don't forget to follow on your way out

Bose and NFL deal

The NFL has come to terms with Bose headphones. The contract that was agreed on limits players to only wearing bose headphones on the field, post game, in training camp, and the most ridiculous of all up to 90 minutes AFTER the game. Keep in mind players like Richard Sherman and Colin Kaepernick who have commercials with Beats by Dr Dre, what will they do? Only 2 players Russell Wilson and JJ Watt have a commercial with Bose and that released recently. This contract will give the NFL revenue but take a lot of it away. How will the NFLPA and the players themselves respond to this news? Don't forget to follow on your way out

What night of baseball

Greatest night of the season for baseball as we saw it all great pitching better hitting small ball home runs and game winners! Baltimore came back with a 2 out rally by "Bruce Lee " or Delmon Young who hit a bases clearing double to beat Detroit and give his team a 2-0 series led going to Detroit. In Washington a tough battle with Peavy putting his best foot forward going 6.1 innings. Bryce Harper hit an absolute bomb into the 3 deck late but in the end it didn't matter. In L.A. the Dodgers dominated through the first 6 but a 8 run 7th inning thanks to a huge Matt Holiday 3 run homer to cap that 7th. And 30 miles north the Royals won yet again another extra inning game. Kansas City who pitched ran and had timely hitting. Eric Hosmer hit a 2 run go ahead bomb into the L.A. Night and was absolutely ecstatic, he was also wearing a mic for TBS which made it even better. Now San Francisco is trying to steal the 2nd straight game in the nations capital. Later the Dodgers who t

Geno Smith fined

Geno Smith the quaterback of the New York Jets was fined $12k by the league for his comments to a fan during Sundays brutal lost to the Detroit Lions. Smith later apologized. And most players probably would have said something along those lines if they were playing the way Smith was expecially if the fan was chanting for your back up. But I am not condoning the words of Geno Smith but in order for fans to at least except Smith as a decent quaterback he needs to play better. In my opinion he is that far off. The Jets should be 3-1. Think about it a time out and a good throw at the end of the Chicago game and their possibly looking at a 3-1 record... Something to think about Don't forget to follow on your way out

Friday game ball

Morgan Burnett had 8 tackles and a forced fumbled and was all over the field last night making a statement about the Packers defense in back to back weeks. Sorry I didn't do this in the Morning kind of rough but I will get better people don't worry Don't forget to follow on your way out

Great games

Absolutely great team baseball is being played today. Baltimore taking a 2-0 lead and all of the momentum into Detroit where the Tigers are facing a most win. Jaba Chamberlain has a 108 ERA! KC stealing game one against Weaver but not in a track meet style like in the "wildest wild card game" in recent memory. KC instead played great defense throughout and doing what got them to the postseason and that's pitch with the best of them. In the nation's capital San Francisco stole game one with a great emotional game by Jake Peavy and Kershaw just dominating in L.A. Pleading his case for NL MVP and rightfully so. Breezing through the majors like he is facing little leaguers. With the almost brawl tonight this series if it wasn't already is the best series in baseball, well I can't say that they are all great because of the magnitude of the game in the situation. Now we can just sit back and enjoy the shows Don't forget to follow on your way out

Game ball Monday night game

Ok my game ball posts are going to be during football season and I will give 3 out each Week. One after the Thursday night game, one for all the Sunday games, and one for the Monday night game. On Friday morning I'll do my Thursday game ball, Monday Morning Sunday game ball and MNF preview and Tuesday morning Monday game ball and week wrap up. With these game balls Wednesday I will put out my picks with the spread. So without further a due my Monday game ball goes to Jamaal Charles for 92 yards on the ground 16 yards receiving with 1 rushing and 2 receiving touchdowns and a beast showing after being shelved  last week with an ankle injury, and to do it against the struggling New England Patriots who looked horrible yesterday with people all over twitter saying it was the end of the Tom Brady Era. Now that waits to be seen the struggle on offense is a real problem with the AFC East now really up for grabs, should be very interesting to watch Don't forget to follow on your way out

AL Wild Card Game

Tonight! 8 PM EST on TBS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't miss the first playoff game of the 2014 baseball playoffs. Kansas City is in the playoffs for the 1st time since '85 and with a young core of players like Salvador Perez a very good up and coming catcher with decent numbers for a 24 year old. This core could be compared to the 1996 yankees core with Jeter, Posada, Andy, and Mo. Perez's numbers  .260 Average  .692 OPS  17 Home Runs  70 RBI's  150 Hits  57 Runs  28 Doubles  22 Walks  Also in that young core is Eric Hosmer, Alex Gordon. Gordon who also had a pretty decent year. Gordon's numbers  .266 Average  .783 OPS  19 Home Runs  74 RBI's  150 Hits  87 Runs  34 Doubles  65 Walks  Not to be forgotten on this team is the back end of the bullpen led by the 5'10" fire throwing Greg Holland. Holland who had 48 saves with a 1.44 ERA in 62.1 innings. Big game Shields will go on the bump for the Royals at a Rocking Kauffman Stadium.
