What a way to end the Winter Meetings

So the Winter Meetings in San Diego were very busy and jam packed with deals and signings. Crazy deals went down and it was a circus to try to keep up with all the Blockbuster news that was coming out in boat loads. It seemed if one team made a move another team within 15 or so minutes would make bigger news. Everything was on the table so some teams, for teams like the Dodgers and Marlins it payed off. L.A made newsworthy moves while Miami's approach was quiet but still as affective. Oh! Of course Jon Lester signed with the GM that drafted him Theo Epstien who is now working things for the Cubs. The Red Sox who were quiet through the whole week traded Cespedes away for Rick Porcello and they also signed Justin Masterson. Back to the West Coast, San Diego was reportly engaged with the Dodgers and they pulled it off on the last day for possibly the biggest move of the week. The Tigers after they traded Porcello, Detroit turned around and looked at Cincinnati as a possible trade partner and stole Alfredo Simon from the Reds. And you saw that a lot this week, a team would trade a piece that you didn't think that they would trade, but then the team would go right back into the fire and pull out a deal that replaces the player that they traded. Ervin Santana signed with the Twins which went unnoticed as the GM and beat-writers were leaving the Hilton San Diego Bayfront Hotel. Max Scherzer was not brought up in the conversation, unless it was about where he was going to go. No deals where put on the table for the right-hander. The only news we got was that the Tigers are not pursuing Scherzer which I think spurted the Simon deal. Like a said before it was a circus and I enjoyed the ride. The Winter Meetings are over, however the Stove is still Hot!

Don't forget to follow on your way out
