Changing Tides

Last night about 6 PM EST a very interesting trade went down between the Diamondbacks and Brewers. Arizona gets Jean Segura and Tyler Wagner, while Aaron Hill, Isan Diaz, Chase Anderson, and cash go to Milwaukee. Wagner is an average reliever that went 0-2 with a 7.24 ERA in 13.1 innings last season with the Brewers. Segura obviously the main piece for Arizona is a possible replacement for Didi Gregorius. Segura batted .257 with five homers, and twenty five stolen bases. Segura while speedy is known for his defense with a .969 fielding percentage and only nineteen errors committed last season and countless web gems at short. The opposite side of the trade the Brewers get a veteran second baseman who is just a true professional in Aaron Hill. Hill batted .230 with six homers and thirty nine RBI’s. That .230 average is the second worst in Hill’s career, only behind a .225 in 2011 with Toronto. Hill will most likely play second which means Scooter Gennett will be moved to short. Isan D

It's now all about the Gold

The Gold Superbowl is set, an old tail of new against old. This is most likely Peyton’s last go around, and for young Cam this is only the beginning of his bright career. These two teams couldn’t be any different at the quarterback position. On the other side of the ball is very similar with two players that anchor the two defenses are two of the best linebackers in the game and potential defense player of the year candidates every season. Of course, I am talking about Luke Kuechly, and Von Miller. These two both made some spectacular plays this season and throughout the playoffs to get these teams to the Superbowl. With that said the defenses while tough are different in the way they play ball and force you into bad plays. Denver is all about man coverage and a heavy pass rush. DeMarcus Ware and Von Miller are two of the best at rushing the passer, and they made the already crumbling New England offensive line look like a gang of middle schoolers. Aqib Talib and Chris Harris are tw

BREAKING: Yoenis Cespedes signs with the New York Mets

Wow a lot of news is falling into place today. This is the signing that everyone was waiting for and anticipating for months now. The deal is worth seventy five million dollars over three years. There is an-opt out after the first year, there is also a no-trade clause. The first year is worth twenty seven and a half million dollars which is the most money annually for a player this season. This was a most needed signing for the Mets. Cespedes is the guy that the Mets needed to anchor the middle of this order that is the most needed run producer that this team would have drastically missed. Cespedes while hold down Centerfield and give the Mets All-Star pitching staff the runs they desperately need.  The National League East is now a tossup and should be very fun to watch. Cespedes was the most popular free-agent this off-season and is being payed for his prime years and for what he did the second half of the year last season with the Mets. Cespedes hit thirty two home runs and on

BREAKING: David Blatt fired as the head man in Cleveland

News just broke out of Cleveland and that is David Blatt who if you remember was hired before last season to sort out the newest "Big Three" and more importantly the LeBron James' return to Cleveland. Despite a 30-11 record this season, which is first in the Eastern Conference this season. Also a 53-29 record last year which was second in the East. Cleveland ran threw the playoffs without any problem to reach the NBA Finals and squared off against the Golden State Warriors and lost to them in six games. losing 105-97 on their home floor in the final game of the series. Many experts questioned the signing last year due to the little success over seas for Blatt. He did win the EuroLeague Coach of the year four times and most recently in 2014. Rumors from the time that Blatt took the head job for the Cavs always hindered him as it seemed that nobody in Cleveland trusted him with the job that he was just a face to connect with Cleveland. The timing of the firing does seem e

Jets Season in Review

Well we are here again way too soon for my liking. The New York Jets yet again did not make the playoffs for the fifth consecutive season. Although  this team did prove a lot to people including me improving from four wins to ten. The acquisitions of Brandon Marshall, Darrelle Revis, and many others gave me hope that we would make a strong push for the playoffs, which did happen, but what I hoped for fell short due to a couple of terrible losses against the Raiders, Texans, and Bills(twice). Those are games that the great teams take care of business and move on to the next game. Todd Bowles and his staff did an excellent in their first season with the organization has to be proud with what happened this season, like I said many people did not know what was going to happen when all these new players were brought in with the new GM and head coach. It definitely was a building year and as a Jets fan I am extremely happy with what happened this season, I really enjoyed the ride I just wis

BREAKING: Justin Upton signs with Detroit

So we just got some interesting news out of Detroit and the Upton camp. Justin Upton is signing with the Detroit Tigers, it's a Six year deal worth one hundred and thirty two  million dollars. Upton hit twenty six homers for the San Diego Padres last season and should be the extra pop that is needed to protect Miguel Cabrera. Miggy is a Triple Crown threat and an MVP threat every season and with the addition of Upton Cabrera's numbers should get even better. Detroit now has two of the most feared hitters in the game and both of them just so happen to be right-handed. Upton has an Opt-Out after the second year so if you are Detroit winning right away is not only in the mind of the front office, but the players. Upton last season in San Diego had the twenty six bombs with eighty one RBI's and a .251 average and a .790 on base percentage. Detroit is paying for Upton's prime years while also giving him his flexibility. Detroit however loses their third overall selection in

It's over! The magical run continues

WHAT A GAME... AGAIN! Russel Wilson dung the Seahawks into a deep hole in the first half throwing two picks in the first half and letting Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers jump out to a 31-0 led. The second half however was a different story. Russel Wilson in the second half threw three touchdowns and finished with over three hundred yards. Doug Baldwin finished with eighty two yards receiving and was instrumental in Seattle's last drive leading to the field goal. Tyler Lockett keeps improving as he had seventy five yards and an impressive kick return and touchdown later in the game in the back of the endzone. Marshawn Lynch did not factor in much as he cost Seattle with a late illegal formation penalty on the final drive lining up two yards behind the line after he motioned out. Lynch finished with thirty five all-purpose yards. You have to tip your cap to this Seattle team who competed to the last down even when they were hurting. Pete Carroll is a very good coach and should b

Miracle in the Desert/ Blog update

First off I know, listen I know it has been a very, very long time since I have done anything on this blog I have said "I'm back" before and it was only temporary. College got in the way, plus the holidays and it has just been a very exciting time for me and I did not have time to write anything for this blog. I am going to be back for good (I mean it this time) starting immediately. Great things have been happening especially in the NFL! If you guys had a storm or something in your area the Arizona Cardinals and Green Bay Packers just finished one of the greatest football games of ALL-TIME! Crazy video game type stuff happening in that game. Aaron Rodgers got a gift from God yet again, Jeff Janis a no-name receiver for Green Bay made two of the best plays a football player could possibly have in consecutive plays, and just an absolute classic game. If you want you can head over to youtube.com and watch my podcast that I do post regularly (Still working on a schedule f
