Crazy Start to the Winter Meetings

Trades, signings, rumors, and deals in the making are all apart of a crazy start to the Winter Meetings in San Diego. The White Sox like I touched on earlier have won the first day but there are still major pieces still in play. Jon Lester who was supposed to make up his mind on where he wants to play today but, he is still thinking, as reports say that we will make it up the latest Wednesday. The Giants, and Cubs the 2 teams that are major players in signing Lester. However the Red Sox, Yankees, Dodgers are still in the ballgame for him. Melky Cabrera is in the rumor mill because reports say that he might go to Seattle and play with his old buddy Robinson Cano. Seattle needs another bat, and outfielder, whether that is Cabrera or not that will be determined. Justin Upton has been rumored that he is going many places, as well as the Dodgers Matt Kemp. Kemp and Upton both very good power outfielders. Kemp is being pursued by San Diego heavily. Upton has been tossed around in places such as Seattle, Texas, San Diego, and Philadelphia. The Dodgers want to trade 1 of their stud outfielders to make room for Joc Pederson. Pederson is the future of the Dodgers and they want to showcase him next year. Of course if he doesn't work out you give up a very good player. With all this talk of outfielders on the move that kind of leaves Boston on the outside looking in. After the big splash with the Panda and Hanley Ramirez their options are thin. If they don't land Lester you might see a huge deal with Philly for Hamels. As of now Yoenis Cespedes is on the back burner. The A's have overturned their roster in just the first day. Moss, Samardzija, and possibly Lester are gone. Tawain Walker, Tyson Ross among some of the prospects that are thrown around in some of these deals. All the teams in the running for all these players have to make a move, and once one of the big players go the flood gates will open. Many believe that it will start with Lester. Also Jason Hammel signed with the Cubs, and Miguel Montero might end up on the North Side of Chi-Town. Chicago is also one of the front-runners for Lester. GM Theo Epstien has been making moves signing players, and picked his manager. With all these prospects coming up it is a interesting time to be in the Cubs organization and just to be around baseball this time of year

Don't forget to follow on your way out!
