Thursday and Sunday game ball and much more

This past week was an insane week of football. Big Ben carved the 9er's defense, Tony Romo injuries his left clavicle, Jay Cutler injures his hamstring. Also Johnny Football gets his first win as a quarterback in the NFL, Tampa Bay upsets the Saints in New Orleans, Derek Carr leads a 4th quarter comeback in Oakland, and A-Rod finally gets some revenge on Seattle.

First I have to cover the key injuries. Jay Cutler is out at least two weeks with a hamstring that he suffered after he threw an interception late in the second quarter yesterday. Tomo Romo injured his left clavicle, he suffered in the third quarter and is said that he is going to miss about eight weeks. That will be a huge miss for the Cowboys already without Dez Bryant for most of the season. Also it is said that Drew Brees has a shoulder injury and it is unclear how many games he is going to miss.

Meanwhile, after a terrible loss at home the Raiders came back in the fourth quarter late to beat the ravens who had their hearts broken in Denver just two weeks ago. Tampa Bay aided by the apparent injury to Brees, walked into New Orleans and absolutely stunned the Saints crowd. Winston looked like the Heishman winner as he threw for 207 with one score. Travis Benjamin and Johnny Football beat up last years Heishmans' winner"Super"Marcus Mariota.

Now, my game balls. First my Thursday game ball is Emmanuel Sanders had eight receptions for 87 yards and two scores, one which was the gut check which ended up being the game with 40 seconds to go. Then Sundays ball, it has to go to Larry Fitzgerald, he had eight receptions for 112 and three touchdowns in a stumping at Solider Field. We will see what happens on Monday Night Football from Indy as the Jets and the Colts square off in Indianapolis' home opener.
