Lost and now found…
What on Earth happened to the Oklahoma City Thunder? This is the same team three months ago blowing leads in the 4th quarter against the Clippers, Bulls, and many more just slipping through the thin cracks of the Western Conference. Billy Donovan’s seat was heating up and the idea of the playoffs becoming more of a nightmare than a day dream. Clinging on to the 3rd seed against San Antonio and the writing looked to be on the wall with Durant possibly looking at a new city to play in next season. THAN after an incredible game four with Durant turned back the clock to his MVP season and torched Kawhi Leonard (the defensive player of the year) for forty-one points with Russel Westbrook growing up—taking a backseat to Durant.
Game four was the immaculate conception of the winning formula for OKC, with an unbelievable performance by Westbrook missing a triple double by one rebound. Steven Adams and Entas Kantar became the power forward—center combo in the playoffs to power, speed, and out rebound the Spurs. Now entering the Conference Finals was like entering the pit of death in Golden State, at least that’s what we thought. Westbrook and the entire Thunder team has amped up their intensity and Golden State was not ready for it. Steph Curry has not looked like himself with the exception of game two. Curry whether he is hurt, psyched out, or the ball is just not going in the hoop, has been tremendously out played by Russel Westbrook. Especially with the Thunder bumping, chipping, and playing dirty against Curry coming off screens and Curry has crumbled. Thompson is doing everything in his power to try and save his team, but to no avail. Draymond Green has not shown up against Steven Adams, which is a huge reason why the Warriors are down 3-1 in this series.
I think this series will at least go six games, maybe seven. There is an immense amount of pressure on Golden State and their legacy of the best team ever. The defending champs are on the ropes and we will see what happens.
