2017 Thursday Game Ball and Week 13 Picks
What a way to comeback
and show life in a season that has been anything but ordinary in Dallas. The Cowboys
bounce back in a big way after not scoring over 10 points in their last three
games (franchise record). A 38-14 rout of the Washington Redskins last night in
Jerry’s World to try and pry themselves back into the playoff race.
The Cowboys are 6-6 and
are looking at the Giants, Raiders, Seahawks, and Eagles to finish off their
schedule and this is a big win for them. That’s because the Redskins are now
out of the playoff racing looking in. This season is to no fault of Washington
because of how riddled with injuries they have become and quite frankly it is
impressive that they hung around for this long with basically a team full of
backups lining up week in and week out. Kirk
Cousins will get paid his money that he has rightfully earned after the season
and the Redskins need to look themselves in the mirror and look over the
roster.
There is some business that
needs to be taken care of and that’s the game ball for yesterday’s ball game.
This week’s game ball is a bit of revenge and that goes to Dallas Cowboys
Running Back Alfred Morris. Morris played his first four years in the NFL for
the Redskins and was a good option to turn to in the backfield. After having a
down year after signing with Dallas last year, he has had his best game in a
Cowboy uniform. Morris carried the ball 27 times for 127 yards and a touchdown.
Morris went back to his old work horse days that he showed in Washington and
gives the Cowboys a good bell cow option with Zeke finishing up his suspension.
The Cowboys will need to turn to Morris if they want to continue to make a
jailbreak run for the playoffs. They will get Elliott back for the last game in
Philadelphia for a big game that can be the game that is the do or die game for
the Cowboys.
For the rest of the week
there will be some good games at three times slots. The Vikings-Falcons game at
1 PM, the Sunday Night Game between Seattle and Philly, and the Monday Night
Game that is a divisional game between Pittsburgh and Cincinnati. Hopefully we
will have some good football this week to distract us from the horrible PR week
that we just endured.
