The Royals had life, and it quickly disappeared last night in the 9th. The air in the Big K just went out of the building as Salvador Perez popped out to end the game. Madison Bumgarner proved to criques that he can pitch in the biggest game, and that pitch counts are overrated. Bumgarner who had 117 pitches had 50+ last night in a 5 inning save to win the World Series. The Giants who have won 3 of the last 5 World Series always seem as an under the radar team when it gets down to the dog days of summer. On the Royals side they showed especially in the ninth, that they need to get a big bat in the middle of that lineup. The power shortage is something teams in the postseason in have shown in recent years. Like the Tigers, the last 3 years, the Yankees 2 years ago, the Cardinals in last years World Series, and this year the game after the Royals scored 10 runs, looking like they would run the Giants all the way back to San Francisco.
