2017 Week 11 Sunday and Monday Game Ball

This past weekend of football was the most important week of football that we have had from the play on the field perspective.

Like last week, this week has been one of the best Sunday’s to watch the redzone channel. The ending of the Saints-Redskin game was great, the Giants took the Chiefs to OT and won, the beginning of the end for Nathan Peterman, and of course, the very beginning of the Raiders-Patriots game in Mexico City.

Play implications have risen to another level because of the Chargers, the Chiefs loss, and the Lions win in Chicago put a new pressure on teams like the Seahawks, Falcons, Chiefs, and Chargers.

Getting to the Sunday and Monday game balls. For Sunday, the MVP race gets closer because of the man who continues to defy the test of time, Tom Brady. In a year, where he has taken the Lebron James route to the MVP award because it is just assumed that Brady is always going to be great. The seasons that Carson Wentz and Alex Smith have had are now dissipating right in front of our eyes as Tom Brady continues to just get the job done at a high-level year after year. Brady on Sunday in Mexico City went 30/37 for 339 yards and three touchdown passes. Brady might claw this Patriots team (that didn’t look like the Patriots of old at the beginning of the year) to another playoff run.

Last night, the notion of the game was different. I turned the game on last night with the score 21-10 in the second quarter. I barely got through the second quarter before passing out. I did see the interception during the halftime report. By the way, that interception by Wilson was one of the worst reads I’ve ever seen him throw in his career. But, the man who intercepted him, Desmond Trufant had the best game out of anyone last night. Four tackles and an interception in one of the loudest (if not the loudest) stadiums in the entire league. This is a win that the Falcons needed to have to keep their season alive. The turnaround this week for football seams seamless because the Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday before Thanksgiving just fly by. Let me be (as Chris Berman used to say) “Among the first” to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving.
