2017 Week 9 Picks

Week 9 Picks
Three losses last week, that’s it. Last week was just an overall great week for picks… too bad I pick San Francisco. I was keeping the rain storms that soaked the North East last Sunday, but it worked out. This is a week that I have to build off for picks and bring my overall record up for the year.


I like the slate this week because I’m not in an actually pool because there are some lines as the afternoon moves along. Take a look, bet if you want (I only missed three losses last week), and enjoy the first week of the second half of the year.

Dan Hurley Saved College Basketball

When you think of Men’s College Basketball, the names of Wooden, Dean, Krzyzewski, Williams, Thompson, and Calipari shoot to mind right away. All the memories of the great teams from UCLA, Duke, North Carolina, Kentucky, the Big East, UNLV, and even the Fab Five start to rush back. Nostalgia of a time when the sport meant something different. For all those longing for the days when great teams didn’t dissipate into the transfer portal after one disappointing year—Dan Hurley and the Connecticut Huskies are here to save the day! UConn has done something that only seven other programs have done in the history of college basketball, repeat as champions. Juan Soto Returns And Gerrit Cole gets closer to Cy Young Caliber

  Juan Soto and the New York Yankees responded yesterday afternoon in Toronto with an 8-1 drubbing against the last place Toronto Blue Jays. After being inserted into the lineup at the very last minute, Juan Soto got the Bomber bats going with a single in his first at-bat, followed up by Aaron Judge’s 31 st home run of the season off the batter’s eye in center field. Soto returned after missing just his 5 th game all season and was his usual MVP candidate self. “[My hand] was a little swollen, but I think it was in a spot that I could help my team. I was feeling good warming up, and I know I had a pretty good chance to win a ball game today, so I went for it.” Soto had that first inning single, and two walks in his unexpected return.
