Day 209

Fresh Start_209: Super Soaking into the Sweet Sixteen
Amongst my excitement when the final buzzer went off and Michigan beat #2 Louisville, at the same time I was a little upset because I had Louisville winning it all in my bracket. I love that Michigan won and is going to the Sweet Sixteen. But, the feeling of your bracket being busted stings.

I will gladly play the fight song until Thursday and hope for the best against an impressive Oregon team that was just pushed to the limit tonight against Rhode Island. Oregon is banged up, but the play of Dylan Brooks and Tyler Dorsey just to get passed Rhode Island. The 11th ranked Rhode Island team played a good game, but the wheels fell off at the end—with Brooks and Dorsey just being too much for the young inexperienced team. It should be a good game on Thursday between the Ducks and Wolverines. Michigan matches up well against Oregon, so I am hoping for an Elite 8 bid for the Wolverines.

When I was picking my bracket, I was trying to be modest with expectations of Michigan, trying not to overreact to the Big Ten Championship, but I guess I was wrong. The Wolverines are hot. When I woke up this morning, I wasn’t going to be surprised if I had to write about how good this season was with the unexpected late surge. However, that surge is still going strong—and building momentum. GO BLUE, PLAY THE FIGHT SONG!
