2017 Week 5 Thursday Game Ball
What is going on with New
England? This is not the Patriot way that football fans have been accustom too
over the years of the Brady-Belichick era. Tom Brady for the third time this
season going 30/40 for 303 yards, a touchdown, a fumble, and an interception.
The 40-year-old Brady is starting to look like Manning, Montana, and Young
before him—old and ready to retire.
I don’t say he is ready to retire because of
what he did against the Texans to bring the Patriots back from the dead. The
only reason why the Patriots are 3-2 and not 2-3 is because of former-Jet
kicker Nick Folk shanking multiple field goals. That is the main story of this
game, not the fact that the Patriots barely escaped Tampa Bay.
Now, it is only fair that
the Jets get Brady, Belichick, and the Patriots on 10 days rest next week in Foxborough.
Let’s not make it a Jet pity fest, but it is only fitting by the NFL scheduling
group. This game also is just the stereotypical Thursday Night game. Let’s just
face it now, there is something about these Thursday Night games. We need to
just get rid of these Thursday Night games entirely and not look back. If
Brady, Belichick, and the Patriots can’t show up on a Thursday Night game, then
they should go away, and the NFL should not look back. The only Thursday Night
games that should continue to get played are any Thanksgiving game and the
Opening Game of the season between the Super Bowl winner and an in-conference
rival.
Getting into the game
ball, it’s simple it’s New England Patriots Safety Devin McCourty who had 11
total tackles and swarmed the ball all-night long. There is just nothing more
to add in a game that was one of the worst performances from two teams on a
football in the history of the game.
