2017 Week 7 Monday Game Ball

That Monday Night football matchup last night is a good example of what playoff football might look like this year. Last night was a fantastic game in every fascist of the game except for penalties. You can blame the players, but the officiating crew is known for throwing a huge number of flags because that is just who Ed Hochuli and his crew is.

Kirk Cousins and Carson Wentz looked like two of the best quarterbacks in the league, and just lit Lincoln Financial on fire last night.

Both defenses and teams in general lost huge pieces last night due to injuries. I went on my podcast today and just pleaded that something needs to change in the NFL in terms of these injuries because it’s gotten to the point of ridiculousness at this point. Every week you see a guy getting carted off the field and it’s just awful for the league. That will be addressed, but what a game it was last night.

You saw the Eagles defensive line like “relief pitchers in baseball” according to Jon Gruden. You saw the Redskins defense play extremely hard despite the number of injuries they have suffered. Jordan Reed showed out last night—bringing back the memories of what he was for Washington the past three years when he is healthy. Chris Thompson very well could be the feature back in Washington after his seven carry, 38-yard performance, while also grabbing five balls for 26 more yards, and a touchdown.

Getting to the game ball, it has to be Philadelphia Eagles Quarterback Carson Wenz. The Wentz hype train was a well-oiled machine last night with everyone on Twitter and in the broadcast booth for that matter praising Carson Wentz for his performance. Wentz went 17/25 for 268 yards, four touchdowns, and adding eight rushes for 63 more yards. The way Wentz carries himself, and plays on the field may remind football fans of Donovan McNabb or Ben Roethlisberger.

Wentz hasn’t beat a legitimate defense yet this season, so we have to wait to see him play the Minnesota’s or Seattle’s of the world but Wentz is showing that he is the best quarterback of last year’s draft. The future is bright for the 2017 season, sit back, relax, and enjoy football. It’s the end of Week 7 and things are starting to finally make sense. Don’t you just love football?
