Honest Review #2.5
Honest Review 2.5: Surviving the Browns…
The Jets didn’t play like
a winning playoff team, but a road win is a road win and I’ll take it. Josh McCown
should be benched for his first half performance in Cleveland.
McCown went 23/30 for 194
yards, two touchdowns, and an interception. The Jets running game never got off
the ground. McGuire, Stewart, Powell, and McCown totaled 32 yards on the
ground. That is not going to cut it against any other NFL team, and if the
Browns had any other quarterback under center the Jets would be 2-3.
The Jets committed nine
penalties for 80 yards—and most of the penalties were just dumb mistakes that
kept drives alive for the Browns. Luckily Kizer fumbled the ball and threw a
pick in the red-zone in the first half. Because of that, the Jets took a 3-0
lead into the locker room, and Todd Bowles couldn’t have been happy.
The two big talking
points that will be coming out of Cleveland are the Jets offense with Powell’s
injury and McCown’s struggles, and how inept Muhammed Wilkerson has been this
season. Wilkerson has seven tackles, and one pass deflection in five games. The
Jets will go as far as this defense will take this team.
Some good things that
happened today are that the linebackers and secondary played well when it
counted. They got picked apart by Kizer and Hogan which is a cause for concern
going against Brady, Ryan, and Newton in the coming weeks. This may be the Jets
last win of the season, so to all the Jets fans worried about not getting a
lottery pick, that dream is still alive. But for now, LET’S GO J-E-T-S JETS
JETS JETS!
