Day 286

Fresh Start_286: The Calvin Pryor trade
I don’t truly now how to feel about this Calvin Pryor trade that the Jets pulled off on this past Thursday. If you haven’t heard about the trade; the Jets send Calvin Pryor to the Cleveland Browns for Former-Jet Demario Davis.

Davis left the team in free agency following the 2015-16 season. Davis in one season with the Browns had 99 combined tackles, 2 sacks, and 2 total sacks. Davis is now 28-years-old and seems like he is a better linebacker than when he left New York.

Pryor who was drafted in 2014 by Rex Ryan; Pryor has never delivered on the plus side that was seen by Ryan when he was the head of gang green. Pryor has shown a small assortment of plays during his career with the potential of being one of the top safeties in the NFL.

Following Marcus Gilchrist’s torn patella which he suffered in San Francisco and that injury ended his season. He was released to free up the second safety spot for Marcus Maye. I liked both Gilchrist and Pryor, but I understand why they went the way they did with this draft.

Getting Davis back allows the Jets to help mend the hole in the Jet linebacking core has been one the Jet Achilles heals in the past decade. I am happy that Demario Davis is back in Gang Green jersey. I think the Jets will win this trade, and start to change the culture for the New York Jets.
