Day 297

Fresh Start_297: “Bring it”
Dear Matt Forte,
Please shut up. Your comments to the fans to “Bring it” has no impact because you aren’t a lifetime Jet. You have only been here for one season, and that was a season in which you completely disappeared on the football field. Last season you ran for 813 yards (worst of your career), 58.1 yards per game (worst of your career), and averaged 3.7 yards per carry (2nd worst of your career). So, maybe you should “Bring it” to the field on Sunday’s before you run your mouth to media.

“In the league, it’s not about the team with the most talent on roster… it’s about the guys who have a brotherhood together.” This is coming from a guy who has played two total playoff games, and hasn’t reached the playoffs in seven years. Secondly, this league is about talent and which team with the most amount of talent can come together and trust each other forming that brotherhood to win a championship. Just ask the New England Patriots, they weren’t the most talented team in the Super Bowl, but they were more trusting than the Falcons, thus the Patriots have another ring for the organization.

I liked when the Jets signed you Mr. Forte, but you cannot attack the fans because the general manager has gutted the talent to start a rebuilding project. Just because you are the final veteran standing, doesn’t mean that you can make bold statements like “none of us on the team think we are going to tank.”

You might be thinking that, but the talent level on the team says otherwise. You can believe in your teammates all you want, but if they don’t “Bring it” on Sunday’s than the Jets will lose, and in a way tank. It is surprising at how safe your job is because of the lack luster season that you had last year Mr. Forte. Brandon Marshall now your two-time ex-teammate mattered more to this organization than you ever could. He also had a better season on the field, and had his worst season of his career since his rookie season.

As a life-time Jet fan, I don’t appreciate when a “Super Star” player comes to Gotham and tries to be the voice of the team without backing his mouth up with his play. So, next time you have something to say to the fans, make sure you score 3 touchdowns, or have a game where you rush for 100+ yards Mr. Forte.
Sincerely,

A depressed life-long Jet fan
