Day 126

Fresh Start_126: Christmas day recap
After a fantastic holiday, us sport fans get sit and reflect on the massive Christmas Day games and the aftermath that affected many different landscapes. The NFL playoff picture was affected and the NBA has shown who some of the real contenders are.

New York sport fans were entertained on Christmas Day with the Knicks kicking off all of the festivities yesterday. The Knicks were in an entertaining game but ultimately lost 119-114 thanks to great 3-point shooting from Jae Crowder and Marcus Smart. Al Horford also chipped in with 15 points,7 rebounds, and 5 assists. Kristaps Porzingis and Carmelo were them usual selves and produced 22 points, 12 rebounds, and 29 points, 7 rebounds respectively. The Celtics went 38% from the land of far beyond to help them win on the road and give all Celtic fans one more Christmas present. This was an excellent game to start off everything on Christmas day.

Next on the docket was the Finals rematch of last year—the Cavs and Warriors. This game was everything that we expected out of the game. It was a close game, that went back and forth. However, what many of us didn’t expect was Richard Jefferson turning back the clock and becoming an impact performer in this game. RJ had 8 points, one massive dunk over Kevin Durant, and had the defense that made the difference on the final play of the game. These two teams will most likely be in the Finals again this coming June. These two teams are the best two teams in the NBA without any question.

Moving on to the NFL, and the big playoff shake up that happened on Christmas Day. The Miami Dolphins clinched the playoffs with the Denver Broncos loss to Kansas City Chiefs. The Pittsburgh Steelers clinched the AFC North the last second win against the Baltimore Ravens thanks to the strength of Antonio Brown. The Ravens will not be making the playoffs with the loss and Broncos loss to the Chiefs. Christmas day is a day not to miss from a sports perspective and its implications will be felt for the rest of the season.
