Fresh Start_267: The Boston Massacre
I was waiting for the lottery to get over and done with to right the article I feared I would have to write when I say the Brooklyn Net roster. The Boston Celtics are continuing their fleecing of the Brooklyn Nets. The nightmare of the Billy King trade that has been the downfall of the Net organization. The trade was a total “Win now” mentality that was so one sided that should have got rejected by the NBA itself. I’m not going to be screaming at the NBA for allowing this trade to happen, but Billy King is the Bambino or the Billy Goat in the curse scenario for the Nets.

There is no question that this Nets team will be one of the worst teams in the NBA for years to come, because even with the ability to have our own first round pick in next year’s draft, there isn’t a Lebron James in next year’s draft, and just like the Jets—the Nets have so many holes in the roster that one player won’t fix the problems that Brooklyn has. The current management of Sean Andrew Marks and Kenny Atkinson are the right people to put this team on the right path toward championship basketball.

With this “Boston Massacre” trade it is impossible to be like the 76’ers and “Trust the Process.” Net fans have to be like the old-school Clippers and have an unfathomable amount of hope. When you have the situation that the Nets find themselves in, the fans are stuck in a vacuum and really have no hope for the future and no energy for the team. It has been proven that the Nets are a terrible team, so to think that the Nets will be better next year with no lottery pick or an ability to sign any high-end free agent, winning is something that won’t happen in Brooklyn for years to come.

Winning will be that much sweeter for fans that stay and cheer now when the Nets actually start winning. To think that the Nets will win now is a thought that I cannot even comprehend right now because of how awful the roster currently is. I’m hoping this nightmare will go by quicker than how long it will last, and I look forward to be buying tickets for an NBA Finals game in Brooklyn at some point in my life. But for now, it’s doomsday in Brooklyn because the Number One team in the Eastern Conference that will host Game One of the Eastern Conference Finals tomorrow will have the first overall pick in this June’s draft. Yeah, that’s the Nets reality. Enjoy it Boston, sincerely a sad New Yorker.

The Question going into the Trade Deadline for the New York Yankees

  There is a crossroads in the Bronx in between River and 161 st Street right now. As New York Yankee Manager Aaron Boone likes to put it “[the season] is right in front of them.” The second half of the season is for the taking. As we move into the dog days of summer the Bronx Bombers are nine games out of the division and now a game and a half out of the AL Wild Card race following a disappointing first series in Colorado. With that, the historic starting Tampa Bay Rays have cooled off, going 3-7 before the break while showing signs of being mortal. Baltimore, who has been keeping pace with Tampa, didn’t look like a Superpower when they split against the Yankees two series before the break. The Answer for the Mets

  As Yogi Berra would say “it’s déjà vu all over again.” Buck Showalter is an all too familiar place. The 67-year-old manager has taken a time machine back to 2012. No, he is not managing in Baltimore anymore, however that’s what it feels like the end of Showalter’s Oriole tenure in Queens right now. The Mets simply can’t get out of their own way. With Pete Alonso likely headed to the Injured List, the Mets scored 10 runs last night in Atlanta. 10 runs on the heels of back-to-back gut-wrenching losses at the hands of the team that has foiled the Mets for the better part of almost three decades, the Atlanta Braves. 10 runs with their hired ace, Justin Verlander, who was looking to put together good starts consecutively for the first time all season. The Mets looked like they were about to exercise some demons in Atlanta last night, and then, the other shoe dropped. It wasn’t good enough. Again.
