NY 500 VII

NY 500 #7
This the time of year, where us New York sport fans get excited each and every day for what is on our tv. For the baseball fans it is a separating time for the city. Usually the Yankees are the ones going into the playoffs hot and ready for a title chase. This year the bombers are sitting this year out, while the Mets are looking to go back to the World Series and actually compete in this year’s series. I have to say to my good friends that are Mets fans, I am happy for you, but I will not route for the Mets even though they are a New York team. The Mets have denied the odds with all the injuries that they have had this season that include David Wright, Matt Harvey, and Neil Walker. At one point in the season, the entire starting infield was one the shelf. The injuries may be too much for the Metropolitans even in the Wild Card game. I wish them luck and hope for some good playoff games from every team involved.
For the hockey teams, it is preseason and doesn’t really matter. I am excited for the start of Ranger hockey, and hope for better season than last. The Giants don’t play until later tonight and it should be a really good game. The New York Jets imploded once again, and snatched defeat in the jaws of victory. The Jets were on a game tying drive which was halted by Richard Sherman and one of the best defenses in the NFL. I really like Pete Carroll and how he runs his team, but this week I don’t like what his team did to mine. The Jets are in a tough place and the schedule with the Pittsburgh Steelers are waiting the big ketchup bottle in Pittsburgh. Geno Smith might have a resurgence in a Jets uniform due to the play of Ryan Fitzpatrick. The play by Fitz has been so incredible awful and straight up unacceptable. I said it yesterday and I will say it today, you have to at least give Geno Smith half of the first team snaps and have him at the ready if Ryan Fitzpatrick continues to play the way he is.
