NY 500 VIII

NY 500 #8
*I am writing this article a day late because of my brothers birthday yesterday, this is a one-time thing, I apologize.*
It is officially football, basketball, and hockey season in New York right now. The Yankees and Mets are out of the playoffs, and as much as I want to continue watching Yankee baseball, it is over. The Jets lost again and in this game I didn’t think they would win. Pittsburgh is one of the best teams in the NFL. The defense couldn’t keep up against the burners that were on the Steelers had. The offense needs to get under the microscope and reevaluate what the team is doing on that side of the ball. Brandon Marshall had a good game catching eight balls for one hundred and fourteen yards and one touchdown. Matt Fortè needs to find himself and become the running back that was signed in the offseason. Even with three straight losses I feel confident with the Jets going on the road against the Arizona Cardinals. As I said in my honest review on Sunday I feel good about the next five weeks. For the Giants, the answer of is Odell Beckham Jr. for real has been answer. Beckham Jr. had a decent game with five catches for fifty-six yards and his first touchdown of the season. It will remain to be seen if this breaks him out of the slump he has been in over the first quarter of the season. Eli Manning needs to be more consistent against teams if the team wants to be able to compete in games. Eli was 18/35 for one hundred and ninety-nine yards and the touchdown to OBJ. The Giants defense who has been playing great for the first four weeks of the season, looked like they were in quicksand against Aaron Rodgers and the cheese heads. The game was entertaining and was one a seven-point win for the Packers.
The NBA and NHL preseasons have started and it hasn’t been a big focus of mine. The Rangers had a decent preseason and look like one of the better teams in the NHL. The opening game is this Thursday at home against the Islanders. I am excited for Ranger hockey and I will be watching on Thursday with rotation with Thursday Night Football. The Knicks and Nets have been decent in the preseason. Jeremy Lin has become the star of the Brooklyn Nets, and personally I am not looking forward to basketball season. The Nets might be the worst teams in NBA history, and will win the lottery and get the best player in college. This season for the Nets is the ultimate tank job, and Brook Lopez will not be on the team next season. The Knicks will have an adjustment period but will be a playoff team, probably around the fifth or sixth seed.
