2016 Week 10 game balls

Week 10 Thursday, Sunday, and Monday game balls
FINALLY! We have just witnessed the best weekend of football of the year. The games actually were entertaining and could keep an audience for more than a quarter. A couple of games I have in mind are the Cowboys and Steelers, Saints and Broncos, and the last game of the night Seahawks and Patriots. The Monday night game wasn’t a snooze fest either and that is just refreshing as a fan. Even though the Jets didn’t win, which sucks, the ability to turn on a different game and be compelled to watch is something that has been missing immensely throughout the league this season.

Getting right into my game balls, we have to start with Thursday… This game was probably the worst out of all the prime-time games by far, but it’s still the Thursday game, so there has to be a game ball given out. In one of the worst Thursday night matchups of the year my Week 10 game ball goes to Baltimore Ravens Safety Eric Weddle. Weddle had 4 tackles, which was tied for the team lead in the game, and also came away with an interception that lead to point on the following drive. With the optimism I have for the level of play in the league right now, I am hopeful that the play on this upcoming Thursday will be the best in a Thursday game we have seen this season.

Moving onto Sunday, the games where crazy and the performances even more so, so it was a tough ball to give out with multiple well deserving candidates, many playing each other, or alongside each other… My Sunday game ball is going to Dallas Cowboys Tailback Ezekiel Elliott for having a masterful day in Pittsburgh. Not only did Elliott run for 114 yards on the ground on 21 carries for 2 touchdowns, but he also caught 2 balls for 95 yards and a score, while delivering the knockout punch to the Steelers with a 32-yard touchdown with under ten seconds to go in the game. Elliott was the fourth overall selection in this past years’ draft and received a ton of unnecessary criticism for being taken that high. Elliott looks like the Offensive Rookie of the Year at the moment and is having fun proving those haters wrong behind the best line in football.

Monday night belonged to New York with the Giants and Bengals squaring off. This game took me back a couple of years with the hard hits and physical close game play. It ended up being a narrow one-point win for the Giants and that has secured thanks to their defense that is getting paid $200 million dollars this season to get the job done. My game ball is going to a man that pretty much has been the entire Giants defense for the entire season and that is New York Giants Safety Landon Collins. Collins has single handedly won the Giants some ball games and he certainly helped out on Monday night. He chipped in with 5 tackles and an interception that allowed the momentum shift over to the Giants sideline. The game went back and forth throughout, but Landon Collins certainly made his impact felt and left his finger prints all over this game so that is why he is my game ball for Monday night.
*Let me know in this straw poll if you like this set up of giving out the game balls all on Tuesday http://www.strawpoll.me/11657629 *
