Day 95

Fresh Start_95: It’s that time of year
Tomorrow night the game of all games for Big Ten fans kicks off with huge implications that will shake up college football around the country. That game is “The Game” the Michigan Wolverines and Ohio State Buckeyes. This rivalry is one of the best in sports and definitely one of the most significant in college sports. As a Michigan fan I am as happy and nervous as I have been in a long time. If you ask anyone around the rivalry, the opposition absolutely despises the other school. The hatred runs as deep as the Yankee-Red Sox rivalry.

The rivalries like the Michigan-Ohio State rivalry are fueled by insane fans, good teams, and talented players that have a reason to play up for the biggest game of the year. One of the reasons that you go to a school like Ohio State or Michigan is to play in a game like this.

The teams are set for an all-time game based on the implications that fall on this game. Two playoff teams (as of now) face off and will shake the college football landscape with the outcome of this game. With two great head coaches, electrifying playmakers on either side of the ball, and a hostile environment, this game will be the best game college football has seen this season. Penn State is hanging around the playoff realm and are hoping for an Ohio State loss, and with teams like Washington and Clemson looking around nervous that they won’t be playing for the National Championship.

With Wilton Speight hurt and unable to play in the big game this week, John O’Korn the transfer from Houston will take over the offensive reins. Some “experts” thought that O’Korn should have won the job outright, and with the play that O’Korn has shown in the past, I am comfortable with him under center. I don’t know who will win, and I am optimistic that Michigan will play well and win, but I am not set on that yet. Ohio State, despite a scare from Michigan State, are a very good team. There is a reason that they are the number 2 team in the country, despite my feelings about the team, this team is scary. Let’s hold off the turkey hangover, grab a drink and some popcorn and watch a very good football game tomorrow at Noon EST.
