Day 78

Fresh Start_78: What in the World
What the hell is going on in the NFL right now. The NFL clearly missed a call before halftime last night with the flag on Richard Sherman for an off-sides penalty. The flag should have been a roughing the kicker for Sherman barreling into Dan Carpenter and almost injuring him on the play.

Not only did the refs mess up on that play, they made Buffalo take a delay of game which made them back up five yards. Rex Ryan was clearly and rightfully so upset and giving the refs in Seattle an earful. The NFL would later admit that the refs on the field got the call wrong. Richard Sherman told ESPN “I didn’t hear the whistle, and I play until the whistle. I was just trying to go for the ball.” Even if that was so, the refs should have gotten the call right the first time.

It seems like the NFL has one of these types of calls each and every week. Each and every week the viewership drops. I have said that with the Jets not in the playoff race and having a bye week this week, I don’t know how much more football I will be watching this season. It’s incredible how the NFL, coming off a great season of football, can adapt and become this Dumpster fire of a league and adding lighter fluid to the already existing fire for organization part of the NFL. I just don’t know what to do with this league, it should be extremely interesting to see what happens.
