NY 500 XIII

NY 500 #13
*Sorry I didn’t post one these last week, as I said in the update post a couple weeks ago, I am in the middle of the jam packed part of the semester and balancing both this blog and the school work is difficult sometimes. I will continue to do the fresh starts day in and day out, that will not change*
A decent weekend of New York sports. The Rangers didn’t win at all this weekend, thanks to a 3-2 shootout loss last night at home to the Panthers. The Rangers are still the first overall team in scoring and are the third overall team as far as points in the NHL and lead the Metropolitan division by two points. The Rangers are still playing well and the limited times that I have watched the Rangers this season, I am happy with the play of the team. The Islanders only played one game over the weekend and lost to Pittsburgh 3-2 in a shootout.

The Giants woke up at half time and took control of the game against the Bears and won 22-16. The Giants have now won five straight and are in the thick of the NFC East divisional race. The division that was the worst in the league last season, is playing arguably the best football over the course of the season. The Jets didn’t play and all the Jets fans had a stress free weekend that will be highlighted by a happy and care free Thanksgiving on Thursday. The Yankees and Mets haven’t had any signings and both managers still have their jobs.

The Nets continued their losing ways with two losses to playoff teams in Oklahoma City and Portland. Brook Lopez is still playing very well and continues to keep the bet that he will be traded before the end of the season. The Knickerbockers beat Atlanta thanks to a typical Carmelo Anthony performance leading the team with 31 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists. Hopefully the post-Thanksgiving weekend will be better for us New York sports fans for everyone involved.
