Jamie Collins

Jamie Collins reaction
I didn’t see this coming. The New England traded Jamie Collins to Cleveland for a compensatory 3rd round pick in this year’s draft. I don’t understand why the Patriots would make this trade. Collins is worth more than a 3rd round pick. He is in a contract year, and the Pats might not have been willing to give him the money he deserves.

Collins in his career:  has 180 total tackles, 10.5 sacks, 10 forced fumbles, and 5 interceptions, also adding 2 block kicks. This is a good deal for Cleveland, because of the they need an interior linebacker in the most desperate way. The Browns are 0-7 and now have a great backer at their disposal. Collins could be the franchise tag for Cleveland and get him right and back to the player that he has been in his first four years in New England.

For New England, this isn’t the right move for a team with a defense that hasn’t shown up all season. The Tom Brady shield has worked to perfection for the defense that just can’t get pressure or create turnovers. The Pats are last in interceptions, 16th in yards for a loss, and last in pass defended. The Pats do get basically a second round pick, with the first pick of the 3rd round. Hopefully, from a Jets perspective, the Patriots will regret this move for years to come.
