Honest Review#11
Honest Review #11-WE ARE WHO WE THOUGHT THEY WERE!
I didn’t want to even
write this article tonight, there is some many things running through my head
about this game. I didn’t see the end of the game live, I had practice so I had
to go back and watch the Gamepass version after practice and dinner when I got
back to my dorm room. I went old school and deleted both Bleacher Report and
ESPN off my phone before locking my locker to go to practice. I disabled the
NFL Mobile alerts for the Jets and waited to go back and watch the end of the
game. I had no idea what was going to hit me in the face when I opened up my
computer and logged onto the Gamepass.
Honestly I am not surprised,
Fitzpatrick has been a turnover machine, and that is just how this season is
going for the Jets. It is fitting that the Jets would have yet another
heartbreaking loss to Tom Brady, Bill Belichick, and the Patriots. Not only
that but tonight was the Tom Brady’s 200th win of his career,
because of course it is. The team that ushered in the Tom Brady era in New England
would give that same man his 200th career win (which does Peyton
Manning for the most ever). If you don’t know what happened, Ryan Fitzpatrick fumbled
the ball to clinch the game on the last drive for the Jets. The drive could
have won the game if the Jets scored a touchdown, and the last drive and last
offensive play is just a representation of what the 2016-17 Jets season has
been so far. The team just can’t seem to get out of their own way and as a fan
it is one of the most frustrating things to witness week in and week out. Brandon
Marshall showed up to play in this game, catching 6 balls for 67 yards and a
score. Quincy Enewa has continued to show the NFL that he is something to mess
with in the league, and is a Swiss army knife player, that can’t be matchup
with easily. I know that C.J. Spiller dropped a key ball, Darryl Roberts could
not cover any player in a Patriot uniform and cost the Jets multiple times
throughout the game, the offensive line didn’t play that well without Nick
Mangold (again), and why of course Nick Folk and the special teams are still
one of the worst units in the NFL. Nick Folk should have been released at
halftime of this game, because he missed his 3rd field goal of the
year. If you forgot, Folk also has missed 2 extra points this year, and the
inability to cash in on points due to miss kicks is absolutely unacceptable at
this point. The team needs all the points they can get with the injuries to the
team and the inability to create a big play downfield for the offense. Nick Folk
has had a good tenor in a Jet uniform, but is time for both sides to go their
respective ways. The Jets play next on Monday Night Football (December 5th)
against the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts have a couple extra days to prepare
because they played at home against Pittsburgh. The Jets season is continuing
to go down the toilet with each and every excruciating loss, and Tom Brady once
again got the better of the Jets. This game has to give the Jets some sort of
confidence against the Patriots because they will see them again very soon. There
were positives on the both sides of the ball, but the negatives were just too
big to give up against the best team in the AFC. But, as always LET’S GO
J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS!
