Day 139

Fresh Start_139: We Want Change
Regardless of the playoff for the Houston Texans, Brock Osweiler needs to be benched next season. Baring a miraculous Super Bowl run for Houston, Osweiler should be benched by Bill O’Brian. Watching the first game of the NFL Playoffs today, it was close to unwatchable, but I watched anyway. Brock Osweiler only out gained Connor Cook through the air by 7 yards. Connor Cook went 18/45 for 161 a touchdown and 3 interceptions. Osweiler went 14/25 for 168 yards and a touchdown. I know after Houston’s first playoff win in forever, you have to give Osweiler the start in New England next week.

If you ask me Osweiler shouldn’t start another game for the Texans with the way he has played this season. The Texans have made a $72 Million mistake signing Osweiler this past offseason. The better option is clearly Tom Savage in house. The defense saved Osweiler today, and he will meet his demise in New England when the Patriots gets their hands on him yet again. If you remember, the Patriots shut out Osweiler in Foxborough at the beginning of the season.

The Texans with their defense and weapons on offense will make the right decision of benching Osweiler next season if they want to have a legit chance at winning the Super Bowl in the 2017-18 season. It is incredible how bad the AFC South is, and how lucky the Texans have been the past couple of years. If the pattern keeps up, the Texans will make the playoffs yet again next year, and host a playoff game with a subpar record. Houston’s front office needs to give Tom Savage the best position to win next season and surround him with the best talent possible for the 2017 season. There is no way around this if Houston wants to win a Super Bowl.
