Day 145

Fresh Start_145: Lights, Camera, Dakction
*This is my 400th article on this blog, and I feel like it is time to finally thank you for helping me cross the 10,000 view count mark on this blog. As of this moment, the blog is at just over 11,500 views and I am so thankful and humbled by this. When I started this blog 2 years ago, I didn’t think it could last or even get to the moment we are currently at. Now, each and every day is a new challenge, with a new opportunity at my door, and it is so exciting. This is only the beginning.  If it was possible I’d thank each and everyone one of you that has clicked on to my blog, and I would appreciate it if you stay and share. This has been an incredible journey and each and every one of you are a piece of this*

Every rookie quarterback has a win that defines that season and shows the team that he is the right option for the franchise moving forward. With a win on Sunday against the Packers, Dak Prescott can do that very thing for himself. With this win it would put Prescott in the company of Joe Flacco, Ben Roethlisberger, and Russell Wilson. What all those quarterbacks have in common is big time playoff wins for their franchise. Flacco made it all the way to the AFC Championship game, while Roethlisberger and Wilson losing in the Divisional round. Prescott was fortunate that he got drafted by a good team and work his tail off to get a 1st round bye.

This is Prescotts’ biggest game of his life and the pressure is high. Tony Romo is still lingering, and he might very well lose his job if he loses this game. Not to mention he has to face the hottest QB in the sport in Aaron Rodgers. This isn’t the A-Rod that Dallas faced in Week 6, this team is hot and has the swagger of their Super-Star QB to fuel that fire. This will be the game of the weekend with millions of people watching. It all rests on Prescotts’ shoulders to deliver for his team.

For me, if Prescott wins this game, he is sort of legit. He will be on the right track for me and not just a pretender. I have been skeptical of Prescott the entire season, and it has all lead to this. This is the test if he can hang with the big boys of the NFL. If he wins this game and sets his team up to host the NFC Championship game, he will elevate himself to Stardom in the city of Dallas. Prescott will be in the same sentence as Staubach and Aikman. Even if Dak doesn’t have the hardware, this is the biggest game of the franchise in a long time.

So, Mr. Prescott the ball is in your court and this is your turn to prove that you belong. If you are up to the task, you will have an easier go of things in the league. If not, you have an uphill battle proving yourself to the league that “you can play.” Just ask your backup.
