NY 500 XX

NY 500 #20
I don’t know about you, but a weekend like this past one, makes me long for baseball season. Multiple times throughout the weekend, I just felt nostalgic the entire time watching sports, wishing I could buy Yankee tickets and go to the stadium. Even with a weekend that had the Nets scoring 143 points in a win (yeah that happened), the Rangers winning both games they had, and putting the Knicks in a closer situation were Carmelo is no longer in New York, all I could think about is baseball.

Let’s start with the best moment of the Brooklyn Nets season, which happened Friday night. The Nets scored 143 points against the Pelicans and amazed every single Net fan. The team has lead by the 2 vets, Brook Lopez and Bojan Bogdanovic. Lopez had 23 and 8, while Bojan had 23 and 6 against an Anthony Davis lead Pelicans team. Davis had 22 and 9 in a losing effort, while regretting his decision to sign with New Orleans long term. On the other side of the city the Knicks have been struggling of late. Since the turn of the calendar, the Knicks have only 3 wins in 12 games, falling out of the playoff picture (3 games back of Chicago for the 8th spot). I still believe in this Knicks team; they just need to get their stuff in order in 2017. Although, I wouldn’t be surprised if this team turns out be another bust Knicks squad.

The hockey team that shares the Garden with the struggling Knicks is enjoying a mini 2-game winning streak, with a shutout this afternoon (Lundqvist’s second of year) in Detroit. Michael Grabner had 2 goals in the win over Toronto and J.T. Miller is having a good couple of games, assisting on one of Grabner’s goals on Thursday night, and scoring the only goal in the OT win today. The youth of the Blue Shirts is showing off with the Rangers sitting in the 5th spot in the East (61 points). Nothing has really changed for the Islanders as they are just skating to the finish line, only having 41 points at this point in the season.

The Jets and Giants watched for their vacation spots as the Super Bowl was set, and Woody Johnson gave up his day-to-day operations of the Jets, getting the UK Ambassador position from President Donald Trump. Both New York football ball clubs look to the offseason and plug the holes in their teams as best as they can, while also hoping none of their players get hurt in this years’ Pro Bowl.

The Yankees and Mets are packing their bags, lifting the last of the weights, and starting drills as they prepare for Spring Training. And honestly I CANNOT WAIT FOR BASEBALL SEASON, please hurry up. Please.
