NY 500 #21
What a crazy weekend in New York. From everything that went on Saturday with the protests at JFK airport, to the stuff that happened on the court and ice. Starting off with some stuff that didn’t happen on the field, the Jets finished their search for an Offensive Coordinator agreeing to a deal with former New Orleans Saints Wide Receiver coach John Morton. Morton has had success in both of his jobs in the NFL. Morton was the Wide Receiver coach in both New Orleans and San Francisco. The success that players like Cooks, Thomas, Crabtree, and Boldin had older the coaching of Morton is exciting news for Marshall, Enunwa and Decker. It will be interesting to see what type of plays he draws up for the running backs and how he handles the quarterback situation.

On the court, the Knicks are still struggling. Having two terrible losses to Phoenix and Dallas. Not to mention the tough loss in Atlanta last night in quadrupole overtime. The game was a classic, but with the struggling Knicks losing again, you have to think of dismembering this group and selling completely. Get rid of Carmelo, release Noah and Rose, and let the young guys gel with Porzingis. The Knicks are going nowhere and they can clearly lose with the guys on roster—so why not lose without them? The Nets are still the Nets and that is not changing anytime. As a fan, I just wish there was a draft pick to fall back on after the season. Hopefully the young guys can work together and Brook Lopez gets traded for some picks.

Skating onto the ice, the Rangers are on a mini 3-game winning streak going into the All-Star break, getting some confidence back to finish the rest of the season. The Rangers start up the back half of the season on Tuesday against the Blue Jackets at home, so we will see what the Blue Shirts have in store for the rest of the year. If it was like the first half the Rangers will end up 5th in the Eastern Conference heading into the playoffs. The Islanders before the break went on a 2-game winning streak, and after the break got some news that the return to Long Island might not be that far-fetched. With this happy news, I am excited for the Islander fans because with the Islanders in Long Island, everything is right. With the Islanders home in Long Island it is good for the game of hockey.

The Giants had Odell Beckham play in the Pro-Bowl which is meaningless unless you liked watching Beckham play in limited action. The Jets had Leonard Williams play which is a slight plus to a bad season. The Mets and Yankees are still waiting for Pitchers and Catchers to start, it’s only a couple weeks away.
