Views from far far away Vol. 2

Views from the far far away- James Harden trusts The Process
At this point the NBA season, there are a bunch of compelling storylines in the league. The MVP race is really between 2 players at the moment, being James Harden and Russell Westbrook. Each player is just putting up ridiculous numbers throughout the season. Right now it is a take your pick with the MVP because you really couldn’t go wrong with either of them.

Getting into the Player of the Week for this week, it is one of those MVP candidates that I just talked about.  Houston Rockets guard James Harden had himself another incredible week this past week. Harden averaged 30.6 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 11 assists just in one week alone. Harden’s week was highlighted by 2 triple doubles and both of them being 40-point triple doubles. Harden only trails Westbrook for the lead in triple doubles, and is the league leader in 40-point triple doubles. You can see why he is being considered for the MVP right now. My Rookie of the Week is no question the Rookie of the Year at this point in the season and that is The Process—Philadelphia 76’ers Center Joel Embiid. Embiid this week had 3 consecutive 20-point games in the 3 games he played. For the week Embiid averaged 21.3 points, 9 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks. Coming on this season after missing 2 prior with a knee injury The Process hasn’t disappointed yet. Already looking like one of the top big men in the league, Philly will have a great young core to build around when Ben Simmons gets back next year.

Looking ahead to tonight and the following week, there are some good games on the docket for you to watch. Starting with tonight on TNT; you have a double header starting at 8PM EST with the Chicago Bulls going to the garden to face the Knicks, and you have Detroit traveling to the bay to face Steph Curry and the Warriors at 10:30PM EST. Tomorrow night on ESPN the Atlanta Hawks go to Boston to face the red hot Isiah Thomas at 8PM EST and you have Detroit again—this time going to Utah to face off against the Jazz at 10:30. Moving onto Monday which is Martin Luther King day, we have a Finals rematch with Cleveland traveling to Golden State at 8PM EST on TNT, and Russell Westbrook leads his Thunder into L.A. to face the Clippers at 10:30 on TNT. Finally, next Wednesday on ESPN you end your week watching the 2 MVP candidates go to battle. Harden is at home against The Greek Freak and the Milwaukee Bucks, while Westbrook gets a revenge game against his old pal Kevin Durant and the Warriors in Oracle Area. The matchup to look for this week is in the last game I just mentioned, being Russell Westbrook and the entire Warriors team, seeing if he is up to the task. That is it for week of January 12th, make sure you step behind the line when you shoot and I will be back next week.
