Day 17

Fresh Start_17: iPhone 7 News Review
If you didn’t know, yesterday was the day that apple announced the all new iPhone. 2016’s version will be the 7 and oh man has it changed. Of course the Operating Software (OS) will be different with iOS 10, but it also includes a better camera that offers better low light photos. As usually apple has made the battery life longer, which they do every year to try and compete with Samsung. This battery is twice as iPhone 6 and the longest battery life in an iPhone. On the 7 Plus, apple is offering a duel camera set up as a sort of bonus. The speaker system has also changed, added now a two speaker—stereo setup that is two times louder than the 6s. For the first time ever apple is offering a water resistant phone; which will be a huge selling point. As a cheap add-in apple is bringing back the color black instead of “space grey”, while also added “jet black” as an option. Finally, and probably the biggest news of all the headphones are changing in a HUGE way. Apple introduced “Airpods” which are wireless earbuds that connect via Bluetooth. But before, you click off the page in anger, they are also offering the same old earbuds that they have also had, but there’s a catch. These earbuds will now have a lighting connecter at the end (iPhone’s charger cable) with a headphone jack adapter for sale.
Now, let me get to my opinion on all of this. I have recently switched from a Galaxy s5 to an iPhone 6s this past summer. Let me tell you thank god I got the 6s instead of the 7. Mostly because I will end up losing the “Airpods” within days of having that phone. Not only that but I think it is cheap of apple to change the wired earbuds to get a quick buck. I know that apple has done this before changing the charger from the orginal iPod charger to the lighting cable. That however, doesn’t make it any less frustrating as a consumer. Yes, apple is a business first and they need to make money, but too much change is scary. The water resistant feature is an “ABOUT TIME!” moment for long time iPhone users, not to mention an important selling point keeping up with Samsung. Pair that with the longer battery, low-light camera, and duel speaker and you have a HTC One; which is a phone that was made in March of 2013. The reason I compare the iPhone 7 to the HTC One is because it basically is the same phone, the only differences being: there is a longer battery, slightly better camera, and of course it has an apple logo on it. Overall I give this announcement for apple a giant “Welcome to the 21st Century award” as the company is finally awoken from the Steve Jobs era.
