Day 32
Fresh Start_32: Chris Bosh
Earlier today the Associated
Press got word that Chris Bosh did not pass his physical to participate in the
Heat’s training camp due to the blood clots that he has been dealing with for
about two years now. Bosh who despite the blood clots might be one of the best
players in the NBA. Considering the clots and the inability to be on the floor
for his team. It is taking its toll on Bosh; not just with his health but with
his physiological state. With Dywane Wade now gone in Chicago, Bosh is the only
remaining player from the days of the “Big Three”. Bosh is an All-Star when
healthy and one of the best stretched power forwards in the game today.
What Chris Bosh has to
think about now, with thirteen seasons under his waistband, he has to consider
retirement. He has had a good career including two rings, nine All-Star appearances
and was the best power forward for a period of time during his career. He earned
both of the contracts he got from the Heat. I feel bad for Bosh and how his
career is coming to end. I never wish an injury on anyone and certainly not an
injury that endangers someone’s life the way that the blood clots have for
Chris Bosh. Bosh took to Facebook Live to have a Q&A with fans and named it
“Chris Bosh rebuilt.” It is an interesting turn for Bosh—being someone in his
position and turning to a live video format instead of holding a press
conference. It shows the way that media is moving and possibly might see
athletes do something like Bosh did on Facebook.
Looking at basketball he
would finish his career today with an average of 19.1 points per, 8 rebounds
per, and a block per. Bosh finished a 33.5% from three-point land, which is
three points better than the league average last year. I hope Bosh can come
back from this for good and play at least one more season. But I would advise Chris
Bosh to not push this and hurt himself more than basketball ever can. So, Chris
Bosh I wish you a speedy healthy recovery and hopefully I can see you on the
floor in the near future.
