Day 37

Fresh Start_37: Tebow Time
If you haven’t heard by now, Tim Tebow played his first game of organized baseball since his high school days. Tebow didn’t just make an impact he made his mark in the game. His first pitch, first at-bat Tebow hit a homerun to left center. This like everything else in Tebow’s athletic career. This is up there with the playoff win against the Pittsburgh Steelers, or the National Championship when he was at the University of Florida.
This is unlike Michael Jordan when he quit basketball to play baseball. Tebow had no career in the NFL and was doing he doing really well on the SEC Network. Now I will not blow this out of proportion because it is Single A baseball, and it is only one game. It is a nice story and whether or not a twenty-nine-year-old will make it past Single A ball. It is highly unlike that Tebow will make it to the Major Leagues or even make it to Triple A. What I like about it is, it adds to the Hollywood story that is Tim Tebow, while also qualifying him for the Most Interesting Man in the World. Tebow is no doubt one of the most interesting personalities that go by the way side do to his athletic resume. We all know about the Heisman Trophy and the National Championship, as well as the long throwing motion, and the NFL Network special. The Playoff win and read option phenonium was fun for a while, and seeing the success of a college football superstar. The Jets signing was where it all went wrong. As a Jet fan I didn’t like the signing or understand it. I would say it was the Jets and the locker room at the time was the reason Tebow’s NFL career came to an end. Yes, his throwing motion and accuracy where a huge component in the NFL teams determining that he won’t play. The spotlight that Tebow has been so used to for his whole life, got too bright in the Big Apple and made everything else in his NFL career spiral out of control. I am happy for Tebow and am interested to see how far he will go.
