Day 21

Fresh Start_21: Out with the old in with the new
With the news of Mike Tirico leaving ESPN to go to NBC and continue his career, ESPN had to look for a viable replacement that will fill the job that is one of the most popular jobs in sports. Mike Tirico has been the voice of Monday Night Football for years, and for many, the only voice of Monday Night Football they have ever heard.
It is an important position, and what ESPN needs the next voice of their main program that keeps them afloat. With thousands of commentators who have impressive rèsumes’ the company had their work cut out for you. Monday Night Football is without a doubt the main program that keeps ESPN above the rest of the pack, it has to be a relevant voice. They had to turn to Sean McDonough who has worked college football games in the past. McDonough has also announced Monday Night Baseball for ESPN. McDonough can hold his own and does not call a bad game, but he will be scrutinized every word that comes out of his mouth. McDonough who is a Syracuse graduate and has called thousands of games in the past, will have his future determined in the next couple of weeks. He has to be a likable guy or he will be out the door faster than Chris Johnson runs a forty-yard dash. What a game for McDonough to call in his for game in the nation’s capital. We will see the chemistry that John Gruden and Sean McDonough have conjured up in the limited time that they have been together. I will be watching tonight on ESPN at 8PM EST.
