Day 236

Fresh Start_236: Zero Dark Thirty Activated
With the NBA playoffs starting today, and that means Playoff Lebron is back in action. With Lebron setting his sights on a 7th straight Finals, I think it’s safe to say that Playoff Lebron is officially a Superhero. However, with this Superhero on the roster, is it enough to get Cleveland back to the Finals to defend their title?

This year is the first time in a long time the Eastern Conference isn’t a “lock” for Lebron and his team. For the last couple years, Lebron has always had a lesser opponent that gets his wheels rolling. Usually in the 2nd round, just in time for Lebron to really kick it into gear and contend for a championship. With Washington, Toronto, and Boston looking like serious title contenders, it will be extremely tough for Lebron to beat two out of the three of them and get to yet another Finals. Following a narrow 109-108 win at home against Indiana today, Lebron has to start that clock earlier and truly become Superman to bring Cleveland back to back Finals.

For anyone who is still doubting Lebron as the best player on the planet or best player ever will be persuaded if Lebron somehow pulls a Finals run and another championship out of bowels of hell, because that will truly be superhuman. This year is tougher than the past because the winner of the Eastern Conference only had 53 wins. What that means is the league is tougher which is not good for Lebron’s defenseless Cleveland Cavilers. When the Cavs beat the Pacers, they will must take a good long took at the defensive side of the ball, and figure out an ounce of an idea on how to stop either John Wall and Bradley Beal, or Isaiah Thomas and the silent but deadly Boston Celtics. The championship run for the 2016-17 Cavilers will be a true test of greatness, because this team is honestly Lebron James and a band of misfits. If the 2014-15 Finals was carried on the shoulders of Lebron, we are going to have to create a new term for this year.
