In between the Pinstripes #12
In between the
Pinstripes_12: 6th in a row
I think it’s safe to say,
the Yankees love some home cooking. Make it 6 in a row and a 5-0 start for the
first time since 2000. The bombers played great on Jackie Robinson Day, and
what a good way to honor a great man and player by getting a great.
Another good outing by C.C.
going 7.1 innings, giving up 3 hits, only one earned run, a walk, and 6 strike
outs on 97 pitches. Sabathia’s only mistake got to in the seats and ended his
outing. Warren got a hold finishing up the 8th and Clippard got the
save, again not making it easy, giving up a homer to Steven Piscotty, then
giving up a single, and walking the tying run into scoring position.
Carlos Martinez had an
abnormal outing walking a career high 8 and only going 5.1 innings. The Cards
were just unmatched against Sabathia only mustering up those 3 hits. Because of
this, my Focus Player of the Day is C.C. Sabathia for that great outing.
Great pitching, timely
hitting, and good outing by the bullpen have led to this 6-game winning streak,
and hopefully yet another sweep. Moving onto tomorrow; the Yankees are playing
under the light for Sunday Night baseball. Michael Pineda is coming off an almost
perfect 7 inning outing, and he will be apposed by Adam Wainwright who had a disastrous
outing against the Washington Nationals. The bombers will be looking to
continue Wainwright’s rough start to 2017 and getting their second straight
sweep and their 7th straight win. Start spreading the news Yankees
fans, the Yanks won again today!
